CoBL Underclassmen Camp: Standout PA 2030 guards

City of Basketball Love held its annual August underclassmen on Friday afternoon at Abington Friends, bringing in over 100 of the top rising freshmen and sophomores from across the Philly tri-state region. Several prospects made their presence felt but these incoming freshman guards from the Keystone State were particularly impressive in our viewing.    Arguably the most naturally talented prospect in the gym, Meade made it look easy for long stretches during which he was simply impossible to contain as an offensive juggernaut. Meade plays with a blend of twitch and physicality that's rare to find at 14 years old, particularly when paired with his growing skillset as an individual shot-creator. Despite being a camp setting, he showed signs of things starting to slow down for him while patiently reading his man and punishing whatever advantage was presented with a strong, decisive move. He could provide a spark right away for a Judge team with some scoring to replace, and looks to be a clear D1 prospect with upside for high levels of recruitment if he can continue to refine his skillset and feel.     Considered by many as the top incoming freshman in the Philly region, Braswell backed up his status with an effortlessly effective showing on Friday. A consummate floor general even in a camp setting, the future Imhotep star was seemingly a step ahead at all times, orchestrating things in the halfcourt or transition while consistently pushing the right buttons as both a scorer and facilitator. He routinely set teammates up for easy looks with pinpoint passes while also showing impressive touch as a shotmkaer out to the perimeter. His IQ simply stood miles above the competition in a setting that served to highlight just how precocious Braswell is in terms of his approach to a game.     We caught word of Watson coming out of the June scholastic periods and got our first look at the rising freshman guard on Friday. A shifty southpaw, he was effective using his pace and handle to keep defenders off balance while gliding to his spots with consistent separation. Watson shoots a pretty ball with polished mechanics in the pullup game and range out to the arc. While still on the thin side, he has high shoulders and long legs that point to strong potential for future growth. Heading to a guard factory like Neumann-Goretti, Watson should have every chance to blossom into a scholarship-level prospect down the line.     Lewis may not have dominated from a production standpoint but nonetheless caught the eye with his projectable physical tools and translatable complementary skillset. A smooth wing guard, he stands out immediately with dripping length and strong positional size for this stage. He shoots a smooth ball off the catch with flashes of advanced footwork and ball manipulation as a slasher off the bounce. Heading to a ready-made PCL contender like Bonner, Lewis may not be heard from right away but projects as a key piece for the Friars' future after the departure of a loaded 2027 backcourt.     Largely an unknown as a product of the Harrisburg area, Procise caught the eye in brief glimpses with his rangy frame and quickness attacking off the bounce. He was effective dancing past defenders and weaving through traffic to make plays with the dribble, showing no fear as one of the only Central PA kids in attendance. We'll be curious to get further eyes on Procise moving forward as he looks like a guard who could make an instant splash in the Mid Penn this year with the right opportunity.
