We recently updated our 2029 class rankings, and in my 10 years of working for Prep Hoops VA this one is looking like it could be very special. With 75 players ranked currently, we take a look at part two of the prospects in the Hampton Roads area.

#31) MJ Thomas | 6'7” PF | Catholic

Thomas is a very intriguing prospect for a young talented core that's a group to keep an eye on moving forward, and when it comes to upside he's got some of the best in the 757 moving forward. At 6'7” he has good size already with a good frame that will sure up as he grows into his body, he has good touch around the rim and in the midrange, he hits the glass hard, and he's a good paint presence on the defensive end.

#33) [player_tooltip player_id='3538928' first='Shane' last='Tull'] | 6'2” SG | Arcadia

Tull is coming off a very good freshman season at Arcadia, a sleeper school on the Eastern Shore, and he's looking like a prospect coaches will have to make the trip for in the near future. The 6'2” wing is a great slasher who is a strong finisher through contact, he can move off the ball and knock down shots on the move, he makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, and he brings it on the defensive end too.

#34) [player_tooltip player_id='3538930' first='Jaden' last='Brownson'] | 6'2” PF | Western Branch

Brownson is a player that the Branch coaches have to be excited about, as he may be undersized now but he brings great production and energy every time he's on the floor. The 6'2” forward can play both in the paint and on the perimeter, he's a switchable defender who uses his length and athleticism well to contest shots, he is highly efficient around the rim and in the midrange area, and he really battles on the glass against bigger opponents too.

#51) [player_tooltip player_id='3539424' first='Grayson' last='Paddock'] | 6'0” SG | Norfolk Collegiate

Paddock is coming off a strong freshman season and will see his role increase a lot this year as he'll likely be tasked with more ball handling and playmaking duties. The 6'0” lefty controls the ball and handles pressure well, he makes good reads and finds open teammates for easy shots, he can knock it down consistently when he's off the ball, and he brings good toughness to his team as well.

#52) [player_tooltip player_id='2905552' first='Daquon' last='Davis'] Jr. | 5'10” PG | Peninsula Catholic

While Davis Jr. was behind some of the top scoring guards in the 757 last year, he showed that he has the ability to one day be one of those guys too as he continues to grow and develop. He is lightning quick off the bounce with the ability to blow by defenders, he can create separation and make tough shots from multiple levels, he is a good playmaker with vision and the ability to thread the needle, and he is a highly pesky and annoying on ball defender too.

#72) [player_tooltip player_id='3539479' first='Chaun' last='Carter'] | 5'11” CG | Portsmouth Christian

Carter is another up and coming guard who learned from some very good upperclassmen last year, and he has a bright future as he continues to grow and polish his game. He can play on the ball with a tight handle and shifty change of direction, he can work off the ball where he's a knock down shooter and can attack closeouts, and he plays much bigger than he is on the defensive end and attacking the glass.
