We recently updated our 2029 class rankings, and in my 10 years of working for Prep Hoops VA this one is looking like it could be very special. With 75 players ranked currently, we take a look at part one of the prospects in the Hampton Roads area.

#13) [player_tooltip player_id='3538908' first='Shaquantay' last='Evans Jr.'] | 6'1” PG | Lake Taylor

Evans is part of a young Lake Taylor group that should continue to be tough to match up with, and he has all the tools to be a star in the 757 over the next few years. He's a quick and shifty guard who keeps the ball on a string and can break down defenders in isolation and in ball screens, he lives in the paint where he's a good finisher and can find open teammates easily, he plays with great pace and changes speeds well to keep defenders off balance, and he already has good size and will continue to grow moving forward.

#14) [player_tooltip player_id='3538907' first='Mike' last='Banks III'] | 5'8” PG | Manor

Banks may not be the biggest player, but that was no problem for him as a freshman at Manor as he was one of the top playmakers in the 757, and he has all the tools you look for in a smaller guard. He plays with toughness on both ends and sets the tone with his ability to pick up full court, he has a lightning quick first step and good speed in the open floor to push in transition, he sees the game plays ahead of others, and he picks his spots and scores it efficiently when he needs to.

#19) Desmond Hubbard | 5'11” CG | King's Fork

Hubbard is the young gun on a talented and deep King's Fork group with a lot of upper classmen to learn from, but he's shown this summer he's ready to take on a bigger role right now going into his sophomore year. A smooth lefty who can control the game with both his feel and scoring ability he changes speeds well and has a good handle to break down defenders, he can score it from all three levels working both on and of the ball, he's excellent in ball screens creating mismatches and attacking them, and he brings a lot of toughness defensively too.

#26) [player_tooltip player_id='3538917' first='Joel' last='Fullwood'] | 6'0” PG | Hampton

Fullwood was one of the best freshmen in the Peninsula District this past season, and he's been super impressive this summer with a talented Team Loaded 757 group as well. The 6'0” lead guard is as smooth as they come as he gets wherever he wants to off the bounce, he can score the ball from multiple levels and has deep range from behind the arc, he's strong for his age and uses that to finish through contact and keep ball handlers in front, and he can make plays for others as well.

#28) [player_tooltip player_id='2194720' first='Joseph' last='Youngblood'] | 6'4” SF | Catholic

Youngblood is a player I could see way up this list when it's all said and done, as he has a ton of upside with his mix of size, athleticism and skill that he has at a young age. The 6'4” wing is able to work on the ball to get to spots or get to the rim where he finishes very well, he can work off the ball and knock down shots from deep, he can play and guard multiple positions, and he's very advanced across the board for a player of his age and size.

#29) [player_tooltip player_id='3538923' first='Aydin' last='Jones'] | 6'0” PG | Norview

Jones is another guard in the 757 in this class that brings a lot of toughness and can impact the game on both ends of the floor, and he has shown he can impact the game across the board. He's quick off the bounce and sees the floor extremely well when he gets in the paint, he can knock down open shots from deep and finishes well in the paint, he can pick up and guard the length of the floor, and he's a good rebounder for his position as well.
