With the summer coming to an end, we decided to take a look at some of the top underrated players that college coaches should be watching for heading into the season. Here's a look at seven wings in the Northern VA area that aren't getting the love that they deserve from coaches.

Colby Murphy | 6'4” SF | Bethel Academy

Murphy had a breakout season at Bethel last year as one of their top players, and he's continuing his stellar play throughout the summer as well. The 6'4” wing is a bully who can get downhill and use his strong frame to finish through contact, he is athletic in transition and when he gets to the rim, he can score it from all three levels, and he's a very good rebounder for his position too.

Anthony Garris | 6'7” SF | Potomac School

Garris is one of the more intriguing long term prospects you'll find in the DMV, as he is built to play basketball and is still just scratching the surface with how good he can be in the future. At 6'7” with long arms he is able to rebound and protect the rim like he's a big man, he thrives in transition with his ability to get on the rim, he can knock down open shots and has improved his jumper a lot over the years, and he has massive potential to be a lock down perimeter defender too.

Dylan Harsanyi | 6'3” SG | Paul VI

Harsanyi may not be the biggest name on PVI over the past few years, but he's shown throughout those years he can hoop with the best of them, and he backed it up so far this summer in the DMV Live sessions. The 6'3” guard is a lights out shooter from deep with good range and a quick release, he has a high basketball IQ as a playmaker, he oozes toughness and competes on both ends of the floor, and he's a sneaky athlete with quickness and hops too.

Cameron Prosper | 6'6” SF | Bethel Academy

Prosper has continued to develop nicely over the past few years, and after transferring to Bethel from Hayfield and reclassifying he's looking like a late bloomer coaches should really get on. The 6'6” wing is super versatile with the ability to play and guard multiple positions, he's strong in the paint to finish through contact, he has really improved on his perimeter shot making and ball handling, and he's a very good rebounder as well.

Tal Rose | 6'7” SF | Virginia Academy

Rose is another player who was very successful in public school ball before transferring to VA Academy and reclassifying, and he brings a mix of size and skill that makes him a tough matchup for anyone. The 6'7” wing can drill it from deep with a high release that's hard to contest, he's a good passer who sees the floor and hits cutters and shooters, he can post and finish against smaller defenders, and he can defend multiple positions too.

Jordan Garland | 6'4” SF | Heritage (Leesburg)

Garland is part of a very talented Heritage group that was one of the best teams in NOVA public schools last year, and he is oozing with long term potential as he continues to improve. The 6'4” wing is strong and stocky with the ability to get downhill and finish through pretty much anyone, he's a big time athlete in transition, he can hit shots off the catch from deep, and he projects as a really good “3 and d” archetype as he continues to develop.

Tyler Kim | 6'5” SG | Langley

Kim has quietly been one of the top players in NOVA public schools over the past few years, as he is a super consistent and productive player with a great skillset. At 6'5” he has good positional size and is a sneaky athlete, he can drill it from deep with good range, he moves well off the ball to get open and can score it from all three levels, and he has a great IQ on both ends of the floor.

With the summer coming to an end, we decided to take a look at some of the top underrated players that college coaches should be watching for heading into the season. Here's a look at seven wings in the Northern VA area that aren't getting the love that they deserve from coaches.
