THE PLATFORM: Saturday Standouts

Over the weekend at THE PLATFORM in Chicago, Illinois there were many players that put up great performances and stood out. These five players stood out the most to me on Saturday.    While playing for Illinois Fast Break, Jalen showcased his all-around game. He has a strong build for a guard along with excellent length, which was on full display defensively. His activity and instincts led to multiple deflections and steals, and his length made him difficult for opposing guards to beat off the dribble. Offensively, Jalen served as the team's primary ball-handler and consistently demonstrated impressive court vision, delivering several pinpoint, needle-threading passes to create scoring opportunities for his teammates. He also proved to be a capable perimeter shooter, knocking down multiple three-pointers with confidence. Jalen's ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor makes him a promising two-way guard with clear next-level potential.     Levi is a natural scorer who consistently found ways to put points on the board while playing for Indiana Elite Gold. He showcased a complete offensive skill set, finishing through traffic with creative, acrobatic finishes around the rim. He was just as dangerous from the perimeter, knocking down shots from beyond the arc and doing a great job moving without the ball to create open looks. Levi also showed that he can make plays for others. Whenever the defense keyed in on him or sent extra attention his way, he stayed composed and found the open teammate, creating quality scoring opportunities. With his ability to score at all three levels and make the right reads, Levi is a gifted offensive player with a high ceiling.     Karson spent the weekend playing up with Indiana Elite Gold's 16U team and never looked out of place. He has a long, athletic frame that allows him to make a major impact defensively. Around the basket, he served as a reliable rim protector, altering and contesting shots while making opponents think twice before attacking the paint. Offensively, Karson does a good job establishing position early and making himself available around the rim. He consistently sealed his defender and called for the ball when he had an advantage. He was also effective as the roll man in pick-and-roll situations, setting solid screens and rolling hard to the basket. While he's still developing offensively, his motor, physical tools, and willingness to do the little things give him plenty of upside.     Jamir turned in one of the best scoring performances of the weekend while leading 24Up against the Wisconsin Wolves. He caught fire from beyond the arc, knocking down four three-pointers, including two on back-to-back possessions that quickly shifted the momentum. His shooting is what stands out most, whether he's creating off the dribble or stepping into catch-and-shoot opportunities. Jamir also handled the ball well and showed good awareness as a passer, making the right play when defenders closed out too aggressively. With his ability to stretch the floor and create offense, he's a player worth keeping an eye on.     Jeremiah had a strong weekend for the Wisconsin Wolves, showcasing a skill set that is difficult to find at his size. He consistently stretched the floor with his perimeter shooting, forcing defenses to respect him well beyond the paint. He also made his presence felt on the glass, grabbing several offensive rebounds that led to valuable second-chance opportunities. Defensively, Jeremiah moved well for his size, using his footwork to stay in front of ball handlers and avoid getting beat off the dribble. His combination of size, shooting, and mobility makes him an intriguing prospect with plenty of room to grow.
