First time seeing the big from Edgewood. Caught in the early afternoon game on Saturday and he competed adequately on both sides of the ball. Attacked the paint with purpose and drew a couple whistles on strong dribble drive action while starting from 10 feet and in. Poised on the catch after gaining positioning on the black for turn and score finishes. Creates quality scoring opportunities and will draw help on touches in the paint. With continued development the upside is certainly here.

Karson spent the weekend playing up with Indiana Elite Gold’s 16U team and never looked out of place. He has a long, athletic frame that allows him to make a major impact defensively. Around the basket, he served as a reliable rim protector, altering and contesting shots while making opponents think twice before attacking the paint. Offensively, Karson does a good job establishing position early and making himself available around the rim. He consistently sealed his defender and called for the ball when he had an advantage. He was also effective as the roll man in pick-and-roll situations, setting solid screens and rolling hard to the basket. While he’s still developing offensively, his motor, physical tools, and willingness to do the little things give him plenty of upside.
