The June Scholastic Period in the state of Indiana is a big time for student athletes to restart with their high school teams and prepare for a new season with new roles. With two NCAA Live Periods, it gave players in Southwest Indiana the chance to play in front of college coaches from all levels. Here is Part Two of the Southwest Indiana Standouts from the June Scholastic Period:

After spending the last 3 seasons at Heritage Hills, The 6'2” Guard has transferred for his last season to Tecumseh and will make a huge impact on a Tecumseh team that returns 100% of production from a season ago. Gunner is a high energy defensive minded guard that defends the other teams best perimeter player and has the ability to completely take them out of the game. Plays with active hands and a physicality while guarding multiple positions. Rebounds well from the guard spot and thrives in transition. Tempo pushing guard that's able to get going on the offensive end by getting in the lane where he's excellent with a floater. Continued improvement in his three-point shot has made him a capable shooter that will knock down open catch and shoot 3's. His addition gives the Braves backcourt one of the better 1A Backcourts in the area.

The defending 1A State Champions return just about everyone in their rotation from a season ago, and none more than possibly their senior to be guard [player_tooltip player_id='3045017' first='Kierson' last='Lengacher']. The 6'1” Guard showed an impressive scoring prowess in the games I was able to see in June. Comfortable playing on or off the ball. Excellent in getting himself open running off screens and being shot ready. Quick trigger with good range. Doesn't settle for the three-point shot and has a nice middle game as well as a good finisher around the basket with sneaky athleticism. He's a high IQ guard that makes winning plays and will have a strong senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='3254540' first='Grayson' last='Dease'] could very well be the top prospect regardless of class in all of Southwest Indiana. The 6'6” Wing from Evansville Reitz showed off his full skillset in the few times I got to see him this June. He's a smooth perimeter oriented wing that scores it well from all three levels but was extremely impressive with his playmaking ability. Excellent passer for his size with the ability to see over the defense. Has his handle on a strong and is slippery when getting downhill. Crafty with the ball with the ability to create seperation while also being able to play physical and exploit mismatches with smaller defenders down low. The motor could run a little hotter on the defensive end, but is a really good rebounder and has all the tools to be an excellent defender.

High Scoring Senior Guard out of Evansville Christian just gets better and better every time I see him. Had a big time June with the Eagles. Talented perimeter scorer that thrives in isolation. Has the ability to get his shot off in tight space. Really good in the pick and roll where he comes off with a purpose. If defenders go under, he's capable of pulling the trigger from deep. Turns the corner well and has showed he can stop on a dime and rise up over defenders. Can get hot in a hurry and the shot diet can become questionable, but he plays extremely hard on both ends and is a threat to score 20+ every time he steps on the floor.

The Bedford North Lawrence rising senior had a monster June Scholastic Period.
