Regardless of age, the live period brought out the best in players across the state. There were plenty of notable performances, with several Kansas prospects making the most of their chance to compete against other talented players in front of college coaches. As the recruiting process continues to heat up, these players have taken full advantage of the platform to raise their stock at one of the most important points on the evaluation calendar.

Let's take a closer look at some of those prospects and what allowed them to generate so much success during one of the most important evaluation periods of the year.

It's hard to ignore what Barrett has done this summer. Just when you think he's shown you almost everything, he takes his game to another level and reminds everyone why he's one of the top names in the state. Brendan has been the catalyst for a strong MPJ squad throughout July and has consistently produced during the live periods. He keeps the ball on a string, routinely putting primary defenders off balance. He also has a great feel for reading openings and attacking angles, allowing him to manipulate defenders and create space whenever he needs it.

As elusive as ever at the Pro16 Finals in Texas, Barrett was outstanding making reads out of ball screens and put together several impressive floor games. He showed how quickly he can score, but just as importantly, how often he makes the right play and gets others involved for high-percentage looks. While he already holds multiple Division I offers, there's no doubt in my mind that number is going to skyrocket over the next six months. If it does, you could be watching one of the most coveted guard prospects Kansas has produced in recent memory continue to emerge.

Winning Peach Jam at any age is something most players only dream about. Not only was Jones able to accomplish that over the weekend with MOKAN Elite, but he was also one of the main focal points for a dominant squad, showing exactly why he's such a valuable glue guy who will do whatever it takes to win.

The 6-foot-6 forward was at his best converting opportunities around the basket with his combination of size, length, and physicality. He also controlled the glass throughout the weekend, using his body well and pursuing the basketball with a relentless motor. Jones consistently creates extra opportunities for himself with his instincts and effort on the offensive boards, making a number of winning plays that don't always show up in the box score.

The next year will be a big one for the young frontcourt piece as he continues to develop. There's no question he benefited from competing against high-level talent throughout the summer on the EYBL circuit, and that experience should continue to pay dividends moving forward.

Trelc powered SSA Elite to the RecruitLook Bracket Championship in Kansas City thanks to a big weekend as both a scorer and floor general. His shooting was at the forefront all weekend, showing deep range and the ability to get to his shot both off the dribble and on the catch. His improving frame also allowed him to generate success handling the basketball and getting downhill, where he was able to play through contact and finish at the rim when needed or find teammates for scoring chances.

Another prospect who is beginning to field offers, the question now becomes what level he ultimately lands at. I think a lot will depend on how his game looks this winter and whether he can produce against some of the bigger teams in the state. If he does, it wouldn't be surprising to see his recruitment take another significant step forward.

Another name who took over the RecruitLook Bracket Championship and helped power his team to a title was Walker. The extremely talented left-hander put together an impressive run, showing he can handle the ball and attack off the bounce, where he glides and slashes to the rim with an effortless feel. His scoring package around the basket is unique, but he balances it with perimeter shooting and a steadily improving mid-range game. He gets to his pull-up quickly and abruptly, consistently keeping defenders off balance.

Walker was at his best when his team needed him most, relying on his combination of size and skill from the guard spot while making big plays in crucial moments. His ability to create, score, and impact winning possessions was on full display throughout the championship run.

There's no question offers are on the way for Ah'Jaylyn — it's simply a matter of when. Once they start coming, expect them to arrive in bunches. He looks poised to be the face of another talented Wichita Heights squad this winter, and his recruitment should only continue to trend upward.

Dzabatou continues to fly under the radar while playing on an extremely talented [program_tooltip program_id='2078454' first='KC' last='Run GMC'] squad, but he's found his niche and provides stability in the frontcourt. Finishing the summer in Kentucky at the UAA Finals, he once again showed his ability as an interior scorer while displaying a strong feel operating in ball screens and dribble handoffs. He moves well through space, consistently finds openings, and understands how to make the right reads.

His composure finishing around the rim has continued to grow, and he plays with a strong motor as a rebounder, fighting for extra possessions and creating second-chance opportunities. Ben can also impact games defensively with his length and ability to protect the rim.

There's no question he's a plug-and-play rotational piece at the next level. Right now, I see him as a low-major or Division II prospect, but his continued development over the next several months could open the door for even more opportunities.

Don't get it confused, Wilson may be a 2030 prospect, but he's starting to make a strong case as one of the bigger names in Kansas. Playing up all summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2078454' first='KC' last='Run GMC'] at the 15U level, he more than held his own against older competition and continued to show why his upside is so intriguing.

He saved some of his best basketball for the final two weekends in both Georgia and Kentucky, providing his squad with a versatile and aggressive big body who can impact the game both on the wing and inside. Wilson consistently stepped up as a timely scorer and rebounder, while also showing flashes defensively where he was able to create turnovers and turn those opportunities into transition chances.

His frame suggests there is plenty more growth ahead, and it will be interesting to see where his game is a year from now and how he continues to develop with Sunrise this winter. Remember the name — Wilson has significant upside and the potential to become one of the more impactful prospects in his class down the road.
