Emmanuel Oyesanmi Leads D1 Minnesota to a Pair of 3SSB wins

Twenty four hours later they had a 6am breakfast before beating the Atlanta Celtics 57-53 in a game played at 8:30 eastern time. They have 25 hours now to prepare for tomorrow's 10:30am Saturday contest. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team has a 2-0 record and once again it's the Tartan pair leading the way: [player_tooltip player_id='2560499' first='Kevin' last='Wilson Jr.'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2560458' first='Emmanuel' last='Oyesanmi'] </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wilson and Oyesanmi were all state honored talents leading Tartan to the top spot in Class AAAA this year for over two months on their way to a 31-1 season. The pair is now leading [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] to a 2-0 start at the 3SSB championships and a top spot ranking in Minnesota's 16u level. Wilson usually gets the bigger headlines with his 22 points per game last winter and his recent Wisconsin offer, but the 6'4/6'5 Oyesanmi is a top five talent in Minnesota's 2028 class and is right now making a real case to be in the top two or three.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Emmanuel averaged 14.5 points a game as a sophomore this winter and has often been one of the top two or three scorers for [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota']. He really stood out at the MBCA camp as an efficient versatile scorer regularly putting up double figure numbers in an event that that consists of all his local peers. It was just two weeks ago that Emmanuel had a game high 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting in that [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 21-point win over Hoop Habits. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Now Oyesanmi appears to be taking his game to an even higher level in an Adidas play. Yesterday in the win over New World, Emmanuel had 26 points and nine rebounds overall but it was the perfect eight of eight shooting (including one three) from the field and the nine of eleven foul shooting from the foul line that stood out the biggest in the box score. Emmanuel then had 15 points and five boards in the win over the Celtics this morning making four field goals including a three, and six shots from the foul line. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What's even more impressive is that Emmanuel's coaches describe him as a great student, a really hard worker in the gym, a great teammate, and a great young man. This morning Wilson had 19 points on seven of eight foul shooting and 5 of 15 shooting overall.
