Battle in Seattle: Next Level Forwards

Here are some standouts from the Battle in Seattle at the beginning of July who showed the skill and effort to match their size. These guys have shown the ability to provide some high impact play in the front court, and some have shown the potential to be high impact wing players as well. Get to know five guys with size who stood out at the event.    The big wing showed his ability to impact the game at different levels during [program_tooltip program_id='3514498' first='Slow' last='Grind Elite']'s Sunday games. Was able to beat players off the bounce on the perimeter, setting his moves up with hard jabs and pump fakes, and then finished plays off with different gathers, footwork, and some strength to play through contact. Did some nice work on the glass too, showcasing his multi-faceted impact play.     I was really impressed with Wettlaufer over the weekend. He's been a stretch forward who can get vertical and finish above the rim, but he really looked more mobile and played some solid defense at the event. Did a great job staying in front and walling up around the paint, shutting down some post moves and drives, as well as chipping in some blocks. Also was hitting his face-up shots from the midrange and knocking down threes to stretch the floor.     Larson is a long forward who can elevate and showed his ability to sky up for some strong boards in between players at the event. He's a good off ball mover too, and was able to get some catches around the paint, then quickly attack off the catch and make one or two dribbles to maneuver around defenders and finish at the cup.     Dick is a guy who showed off his skills as a front court and potential wing player. Has the size and strength to be a factor around the rim but also showed he can defend some guards on the perimeter and stay with them, as well as knocking down some threes on the other end. He moves well and is a good athlete. He'll be a guy to track as the winter season gets underway.     Haselrig had a big impact around the rim, both walling up on offensive players and sending shots back or working from the help side or trailing the play to get to shots. Was a real factor defending the rim, reading plays off the ball, and showing his aggression and desire to defend the cup. Also got some deflections on passes through the middle that helped solidify his effort in defending the paint.
