Orlando, FL — After previously breaking down the top backcourt performers from the 7th Grade AAU World Championships, our attention now shifts to the wings. With 28 teams competing in the Division I bracket at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, there was no shortage of talent on display along the perimeter. The wing group featured a variety of prospects who impacted games in different ways, whether as scorers, versatile defenders, secondary playmakers, or multi-positional contributors. The players highlighted below separated themselves through their production, skill level, athletic tools, and overall influence on winning...

Shawn Boyer turned in a strong showing at the AAU World Championships, blending size, explosiveness, and a polished shooting stroke. He has a knack for getting to the right spots on the floor and was a constant threat whenever scoring opportunities presented themselves. Boyer knocked down perimeter shots, capitalized on defensive mistakes, and showed the confidence to take on offensive responsibility. His scoring production was a major factor for his team, and the tools are there for him to continue developing into a high-level offensive prospect.

While Bustillo projects more naturally as a guard, he spent much of the AAU World Championships operating on the wing and was one of his team's more reliable scoring options. He has a quick, compact release that allowed him to get shots off with minimal space and punish late closeouts. Bustillo was effective playing off movement, relocating along the perimeter, and capitalizing on catch-and-shoot opportunities. Defensively, he competed with a high motor, stayed engaged at the point of attack, and brought the type of activity level that generated disruptions and extra possessions.

Broderick Hays was one of the more polished wing scorers at the AAU World Championships. He has good size for the position and scored the ball in a variety of ways, whether it was stepping into perimeter jumpers, getting to spots in the mid-range, or using his touch around the basket. Hays never looked rushed offensively and played with a natural feel for where his shots were coming from. The blend of skill, touch, and scoring versatility makes him an appealing long-term wing prospect.

Jaden Paul left plenty to be excited about with his play at the AAU World Championships. He has the type of all-around skill set that translates well long term, impacting the game as both a scorer and facilitator while bringing positional versatility on the defensive end. Paul was comfortable making plays with the ball in his hands, creating for teammates, and attacking when opportunities opened up. Defensively, his length, mobility, and instincts allowed him to guard multiple positions and switch assignments without becoming a liability. The blend of feel, versatility, and two-way value makes him a prospect worth tracking closely moving forward.

Carter Sparks was one of the more complete offensive wings on display at the AAU World Championships. He showed a polished handle, operated comfortably with the ball in his hands, and consistently made the right reads as both a scorer and facilitator. Sparks was able to create advantages off the dribble, get to his spots, and keep the offense flowing with his decision-making. What stood out most was the variety of ways he impacted the game offensively, as he contributed well beyond scoring and showed a mature, well-rounded approach from the wing position.

Stay tuned for more from Prep Hoops Next!
