We're updating the 2027 rankings as we head into our final tournament of grassroots. We had all Spring and Summer to review and are ready to look at the 2027 class. We also have showcase season, Fall Leagues, and such that we'll update again, but for now, we focus on what we've seen in the past few months. Let's take a look at the players who are making the rankings for the first time after having junior year that could not be ignored.

We have showcase season coming up and with the end of club scene coming quickly, rankings, and showcases here, now is the perfect time to lock in with a subscription.

Some of the biggest risers in our rankings started by showing up & showing out at a showcase & they're approaching quickly!

Your showcase evaluation could be the one that changes everything.

Freshman & Sophomore Showcase - August 8th (Rankings Immediately following)
Top Expo (2027 & 2028s) - September 13th

Use Colorado26PH25OFF at checkout for 25% OFF & receive a custom registered graphic that comes with it! Schulz was a stat sheet stuffer as the 6'5 big man put up 16.5 and 8.8 boards a game. He dominated his matchup, dominated inside, and also occasionally stepped out and hit the 3 as well. Schulz has a balanced game and is a big-time boarder who cleans up his misses when they do come. He has a back-to-the-basket game, face-up game, and showed he could be a reliable scorer in each game. I do wish that he made it a point to get out to more events to show that he belongs and his game translates, but a big year like that as a junior has him set up for an even bigger senior season. He makes our rankings debut.

Manitou Springs will be looking to replace their leading scorer and a big portion of the team this year, but still return most of their core. One of their core pieces is Wade, who had himself a solid junior season and looks to get on even more radars in his senior year. Wade averaged 9.1 points and 4.2 rebounds a game, which I feel he will be asked to score even more this year. He's a solid rebounder for his size who can space the floor with his outside shooting he plays well off-ball and attracts gravity. He's not a player who too many outside of the conference know about, but those that have to face have to quickly try and figure it out. He jumps on the rankings after a solid season, and we'll make it a point to check in with him during the year.

We got to check out Doughty earlier this summer, and he showed that he could compete and fit in alongside other talented players. Doughty was part of that 3-headed trio who tore it up in the Mile High League, and he was the engine for this team. Doughty is the team's guard, and they put the ball in his hands and let him operate, and he filled it up. He put up 14.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.5 steals a game. This year, we feel he can elevate these numbers as they will likely be one of the favorites this season. He reads defenses, attacks, and gets to where he wants on the floor. We want to get another look at him before the start of the season, but expect there to be plenty of noise coming from that Flatirons Academy squad. Solid prospect who makes his rankings debut.

Niwot struggled a season ago to get any footing and is looking to right the ship this upcoming season. Their lone bright spot was their guard, LT Lehman. Lehman still managed to find ways to be effective despite being the game plan for opposing teams trying to slow him down. He still put up 12.6 points a game and even erupted for 20+ points twice last year, coincidentally both leading towards a win. Lehman was able to shoot the 3-ball, had to take and make some tough shots, and generate good enough looks to keep his team in games. Hopefully, the game slows down for him a bit this season, and teammates catch up to him for him to be able to get loose a bit more, and it leads to some wins. From what we saw from him earlier this summer, he looks ready for the switch. Nonetheless, he makes our rankings debut.

Trenkle is a player who has seen varsity since his freshman season, so now heading into his senior year, we have high expectations for him as the game should slow down immensely for him. You got to see flashes and him coming into his own at the end of last year, which got him on our radars, and now he makes the rankings. As a junior, he averaged 9.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 5.7 assists, which has him one of the best pass-first guards in the state. He sees the floor well, gets others involved, and also knows when to turn it on and score as well. Trenkle was one of the better two-way guards in the conference and took some chances that other guards aren't willing to take. This year, I bet he converts on more of those and becomes more of the top players in the conferences. I can't wait to check on him at the Christmas break, where I put a bid in that he leads the conference in assists and steals.
