The 2nd NCAA Live Event in the Chicago land area took place this past weekend. Teams from all across the state showed up to play in front of college programs. There was a ton of good basketball played over the three day showcase. In this article we will analyze some combo guards from the classes of 2027 and 2028 that gained stock through their weekend play.    Smith came off the bench in today's game but provided valuable assets. His athleticism around the cup is what immediately popped out. He didn't score the basketball much but his ability to play hard and rebound from the guard spot is what impacted. He squeezed multiple rebounds at high points in heavy traffic with one being for an offensive rebound to restart the offense. Also knocked down a corner 3 with his hands and feet ready on the catch. WY is a fairly young team but deeply talented and he will certainly help fill a role in the upcoming season.     I saw Massey compete with All In last month on our circuit and the young Combo Guard from Warren continued to impress this weekend. He pops immediately because of athletic fluidity on both ends of the floor. His plus bounce and speed provides significant value which he also showcased this past Spring playing in our Prep Hoops Circuit. He drove it hard baseline for a tough spin move and score. Also cut through the lane line off of a blob action set and was fouled on a dunk attempt. Massey showed he can spread the floor out as well with a couple knock down 3's. He is an intriguing prospect that continues to show upside and is one to certainly keep tabs on over next 2 years.     Had a chance to see Tyler play a few times with scholastic and travel team over the Spring and Summer months. It's always impressive to see guys develop their game and witness how it pays off. On Saturday he scored it a few different ways. His shot making ability from 3 continues to impress. He also put it on the deck and got to the cup in traffic for conversions on a smooth and disciplined handle. The motor he brings will pop as well because of his toughness and willingness to compete. Tyler will continue to gain more stock as career progresses.     I caught Robinson earlier this month at Hoop Mountain with his Lincoln Park team. He continued to bring a competitive demeanor to the hardwood over the weekend. His ability to attack off the bounce with his length at the wing spot and draw contact is a consistent skill he provides. Robinson shows good pace and body control with hesitation or change of speeds to create space before getting downhill. He also displays a solid amount of court vision by delivering passes to cutters or drop offs at the cup. A continuous challenge at the wing spot for LP.     Chlan played in one of the first games I saw over the long weekend slate with his Fremd team. He provides efficient three level scoring ability being able to knock down multiple spot up threes and getting to the hole on dribble drive action. His ability to attack with purpose with some shiftiness to his handle provides a downhill threat. He also was able to draw fouls in transition and showcased touch around the basket with a pump fake baseline floater and a controlled runner off the glass. Chlan showed he will be a valuable contributor over next the two years.
