Updated 2028 Rankings: RVA Wings (Part 1)

We recently updated our 2028 class rankings in Virginia, adding over 25 names in a class that continues to get better it seems like every day. Here's a look at part one of the wings from the Richmond area.   #19) Roman Dennis | 6'1” SG | Varina   Dennis had a great season for Varina helping lead them to the Class 4 State Championship game, and with the departure of some of their top players he'll be a go-to guy for them next season. The 6'1” guard is a strong and athletic wing who can slash and get to the rim where he's a good finisher, he can knock down open shots from deep, he can create for himself and others with the ball in his hands, and he's a good defender as well.   #32) RJ Mickelberry | 6'4” SG | Trinity Episcopal   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2025/04/IMG_6851_42a243.jpeg"><img src="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2025/04/IMG_6851_42a243.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-2850946" /></a></figure>   Mickelberry transferred this summer from Glen Allen to Trinity Episcopal, where he had a good showing in the live period with them and should slide in perfectly for a team that needs another shooter. The 6'4” wing has good size with long arms and is a good athlete who can play in transition, he's a deadly shooter from deep with good range and consistency, he plays with a good motor, and he has great instincts on both ends of the floor too.   #48) Jabril Scott | 6'4” SF | Cristo Rey   Scott was one of the breakout players in the Richmond area this past season, and he's one of the more intriguing prospects moving forward as well. At 6'4” with a good frame he already has the physical and athletic tools to play at the next level, he's got a budding skillset on the perimeter with the ability to get in the lane and finish in traffic, he makes open shots off the catch, and he    #50) Peyton Hicks | 6'3” SG | Matoaca   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/04/Hicks-Peyton.jpg"><img src="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/04/Hicks-Peyton.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-3592836" /></a></figure>   Hicks has been a starter at Matoaca since the day he stepped on campus, and he's quietly been one of the more productive players in the Richmond area over that time. The 6'3” wing has a lot of intriguing tools as he can knock it down from deep with good range, he attacks well off the catch and can get to spots with good footwork on his pull-up, he brings some toughness on the defensive end of the floor, and he can make plays for others as well.   #56) Vernon Hope | 6'4” SF | Huguenot   Hope had a great season last year at Huguenot, and he's really turned it up this summer playing with VA Havoc and being one of the more productive wings we've come across in the Richmond area. At 6'4” he's a big and physical wing that thrives in the paint whether it's attacking off the bounce or posting up smaller defenders, he has improved in his consistency with his outside shot, he attacks the glass hard on both ends of the floor, and he's got a great motor and makes winning plays too.   #88) Dillon Murphy | 6'4” SF | TPLS   Murphy is another very intriguing wing in the area, as the 6'4” wing is very advanced for his age and will only continue to improve moving forward. He is a dead eye shooter from deep who can get hot and fill it up in bunches, he moves very well off the ball and can set his feet and knock it down on the move, he can rebound and finish in traffic, and he has a high IQ as a playmaker too.
