In this article, I feature five players that quickly stood out to me with their play amongst the rest at the Summer League games this past Thursday.

Taytum was great all game on Thursday, as he was consistently crashing the glass on both ends of the floor, providing extra possessions for his team more times than I could count. His defense was his best offense as he created turnovers through his on-ball pressure and anticipation for where the next pass would be. Offensively, with the ball in his hands, he was consistently getting downhill and finished through contact or finding the open kick-out whenever the help came to stop his drives.

I got the chance to watch Mekhi in his new Legacy Longhorn threads with his new teammates. He showcased exactly why he is a big addition to this team by playing with such poise and purposeful patience. He got a paint touch whenever he wanted to make the opposing low-man help, leading to easy drop offs to whoever was waiting at the dunker spot. Any time the help didn't come, he took it himself for easy lay-ups. His speed and pace was a real problem for the opposing defense to control.

Lucas is one of the most intriguing incoming freshman in Nevada. At 6'5 with a long wingspan, he has all the physical tools to be a top player in the state. The way he paired his skill with aggression, made it clear he didn't want to even be seen as somebody trying to figure out how to fit in with their team, but rather, somebody who wants to make a real impact on winning basketball. He was all over the glass on Thursday on both ends, snatching rebounds at the top and even showed off his athleticism with an easy dunk.

Marshal stands out to most as one of the best scorers in the state, but to me he stands out as an aggressive, hard working, two-way player. Marshal did what was needed to help his team compete in a close loss against Foothill. He showed me he can apply heavy on-ball pressure that leads to turnovers and fast breaks as well as score in bunches. When he catches his rhythm, he's very tough to slow down.

Faith landed their PG for the future. Incoming Freshman Tyshawn Brown was a walking flamethrower on Thursday, scoring over 25 points including 12 straight at one point in the second half. He knocked down three after three but mixed in lay-ups through traffic and in transition all game long. As the game went on, the attention on him grew and he used it to his advantage by finding his teammates for easy shot attempts.
