USE CODE “baxley30” FOR 30% OFF THE FIRST PURCHASE OF ANY SUBSCRIPTION

Summer team camp season isn't just about putting up big numbers—it's about finding players who make winning plays. Over two days at the Ridge View Blazer Run and Francis Marion Team Camp, several prospects consistently impacted games through their leadership, versatility, effort, and ability to elevate those around them. These six players may have done it in different ways, but each left a lasting impression by helping their team succeed.

Owen impacted winning with scoring off the bench. He should be one of the Predators' most important bench weapons in his sophomore season, and because they were short-handed on Wednesday, Veihman got even more of a run to show what he can do. He went for 10 points on 2-3 3FG in a matchup with Ashley Ridge, also looking comfortable pulling up in the mid-range and attacking the rim off the bounce. Keep an eye on Owen to be one of the best shooters in the CSRA in a few years.

Anderson is back in the Palmetto State with C.A. Johnson. He had two excellent performances as the defending 1A Champs 1-1 in front of me on Wednesday, putting up 18 points and 7 rebounds in game one, followed by 13 points and 8 rebounds. Although Jeremy will be a strong interior presence for the Hornets most of this season with offensive rebounding and shot blocking, he also showed some polish to his game with perimeter shooting and buckets off the dribble.

When I think of winning, Ridge View will always be one of the first South Carolina High Schools I think of. Wylie has been a major piece to their puzzle over the last few seasons, and he was bright again on Wednesday. His strong frame allowed him to impact winning against Nation Ford, as he locked down the defense end, got downhill in the half-court, and was a playmaker in transition. DJ tallied 14 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals in the game.

Switching over to the Francis Marion Team Camp, Gamble is a guy I've been wanting to get eyes on for the past year. James is one of the best juniors in Class 2A, and he was extremely impressive in East Clarendon's first game on Thursday, racking up 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. His athleticism and frame are the first things that stand out when you watch him, but he is also a capable outside scorer and playmaker.

Another 2028 guard who I'm becoming more familiar with this spring and summer is Elijah. It's clear to see how he has worked on his body, as he is now a guard strong enough to hold up against multiple positions on the defensive end and capitalize on smaller matchups offensively. McCaskill has a great feel for finishing with his left hand and dumping off to his bigs, but he was also one of the best shooters in the gym on day two.

Speaking of shooting, that's exactly what new Lee Central guard [player_tooltip player_id='3669414' first='Ti-Zhier' last='Scott'] will bring to the Stallions. Scott transferred to South Carolina from Evans (GA) and will instantly be a name to know in the 2027 Class. Ti-Zhier went for 20 points and 3 assists on 4-8 3FG in my first look at him in Florence. He showcased an ability to score the ball at multiple levels of the bounce, work off spot-up looks, and even an eye for a flashy pass.
