On May 31-June 2nd I attended the annual Pangos All-American Camp at Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas. There were around 100 players from all over the country competing in front of scouts like myself and NBA personnel trying to get on some of the future NBA draft boards. Many Arizona players came out to compete and did quite well. 9 players made an all-star game with three making the Top-30 Cream of the Crop game and six making the Top-60 game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2975471' first='Kur' last='Lual'] AZ Compass Prep (Pictured)

The breakout player of the event from our state was definitely Lual. He was #2 in scoring with 20 per game but was also Top-15 in assists. He scored it with threes off the catch or pull, side step, jab steps and step backs. He is a high level dunker and plays off of the pick and roll game and will deliver the dime. He can also rip thru for the layup and moves really well in space to defend. He has a motor to rebound and blocks shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532089' first='Darren' last='Ford'] AZ Compass Prep

A combo guard with a strong frame and a tighter handle in close spaces. He can get downhill with his burst and powerful frame and then shoot it with mid-range pull-ups and threes. He will get hot from deep and he will spring up quickly to lay it in or dunk it. He is a good passer and collects steals with quick hands on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146175' first='LJ' last='Diamond'] Perry

Arguably the most athletic guard in Arizona had some great moments at the camp. He scores it with fast break dunks, pull-up threes and just simply puts so much pressure on the defense to get downhill. He is a very good passer showing off some play-making skills and was Top-20 in assists. He also is very quick on the ball defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194805' first='Marquice' last='Pless'] Higley

A bigger sophomore guard or wing handles it well to create his own offense and will handle pressure better then most non PG's. He will score with threes off the catch (seems to love the corners), ball fakes to get downhill and will score off of the glass in his area with put backs. He will be one of the leaders for the young Knights this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140825' first='Jimmie' last='Haywood III'] AZ Compass Prep

A bigger combo lead guard played a lot of the PG role for his team and showed he can make plays with good feel. He was 3rd in assists at 5 per game and also surprisingly top-20 in rebounds, which was the 4th best guard. He scores it with strong downhill takes and can handle a bump with some quickness and off the dribble threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2574810' first='Wor' last='Wor'] Bella Vista Prep

A bigger wing who also showed up and filled it up was Wor. He was a Top-20 scorer with blow bys with either hand and he will rattle in threes off the catch or pull. He is a plus rebounder and will score with offensive rebound put backs and dunks on the break. He gives high effort on defense and crashes the glass often.

[player_tooltip player_id='1612509' first='Jalen' last='White'] Bella Vista Prep

Arguably the most athletic forward at the camp was White. He is a true next level athlete with full windmills on the break and super quick springs. He was the 11th best scorer at 15.5 per game with deep perimeter shots from the volleyball line and high level mid-range pull-ups. He will score with inside takes and just had so many dunks with his supreme bounce. He was also top-25 in rebounding using his natural gifts to corral the ball off the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='3659677' first='Ezekiel' last='Ifejeh'] Bella Vista Prep

A newcomer for me is a strong famed power forward with good girth. He will score with downhill takes and carves out space. He will use a spin move into a layup with either hand mostly under the rim but is highly effective. He also rebounds out of his area with two-hands.
