Ohio State Team Camp: Friday 2028-29 Standouts

Matus had a big weekend scoring off the ball by hitting set shots and attacking closeouts. Matus found it easiest to attack the rim in transition as Brunswick transitions from defense to offense rapidly. In sudden death double overtime Vs Gahanna, Matus hit the game-winning 3-pointer to lift his team to a win. Scoring the first five points of the game, Hunt showed off his inside-outside game with a time and space 3-pointer followed by a strong layup. His aggressiveness also forced the defense to foul him a handful of times on shots, going up through contact in the paint. Blackmon is a talented ball handler who can get to a variety of spots on the court off the dribble and create shots for himself and his teammates. Late in the game, Blackmon was the guy Gahanna relied on to create shots and eventually send the game to overtime with timely buckets. Starks individually had an impressive weekend in Columbus as he showed off his length, athleticism and improved ball handling ability. Starks makes quick and decisive decisions with the ball in his hands and had a couple rip and go moves and also a double crossover move to score. Smith is a crafty finisher at the rim who can hang in the air, switch hands and use pivots to find angles. Smith had multiple scoring explosions on Friday as his offensive production is extremely impressive for a 2029 guard.
