The GPA gave us a chance to see some new players, and to learn about some new players, and we were left quite impressed by some of those names. Staring with a talent from Perham....

[player_tooltip player_id='3585035' first='Sam' last='Dale'] of [program_tooltip program_id='2076003' first='West' last='Central United'] (Perham). In the second half of the WCU/Dynasty game a player just kept dunking. After the third I had to walkover and wonder..... who is this 6'5 210 pound defensive end looking 17u player throwing down like he is Julius Peppers? The answer was [player_tooltip player_id='3585035' first='Sam' last='Dale'] who actually has had three sacks in a football game in his varsity career. How do we know so little about him? Sam has had a pair of leg injuries the past couple years that have kept him out of action at times, and had him somewhat limited other times. There was nothing limited about the five second half dunks we saw in that game and we look forward to see him with WCU and/or Perham again.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140637' first='Jayden' last='Anunda'] of [program_tooltip program_id='2075310' first='Northstar' last='Titans'] (Burnsville). In watching the 6'4 Anunda compete, you have to believe that he is going to be able to take another step forward for the Blaze. Anunda is a really strong 6'4 and he's quick to go with it at that size. The core strength is there, and with more playing time the comfort and coordination with the ball should take more steps too. Anunda was moving off the ball to transition score, cut and score, and second chance score plus defensively he was tough to deal with when in position. With more consistency Jayden could be a very good defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='3345853' first='Colton' last='Bauer'] of [program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets'] (Albany). Bauer is a player that I noted that could make a nice job this winter. He is a listed 6'6 190 pounds in football meaning you can trust that listed basketball height. Good student, good frame, good worker that played more off the bench for a very good Albany team last year but the way he defended and finished his chances vs Elevate, I think Bauer can help the Huskies this winter. Bauer finished four times over the top of Elevate in a balanced way and knocked out his foul shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2417230' first='Brayden' last='Harris'] of [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] (Farmington). The Tigers always seem to replenish their guards with formidable players that help their team be top ten area in state. Harris fits that mold at 6'3. The potential is there to be a good defender with agility and length on the ball, he can use the dribble to attack, and at 6'3 as a wing the potential is there to catch late in a possession and get rim against a scrambled defense. We saw Harris do that this weekend we think he will be very good with Goring, Schabert and Sheridan in that core senior group.

[player_tooltip player_id='2405944' first='Aidan' last='Sanchez'] of SSA ND (Breckenridge). Aidan averaged 19.4 points a game this winter and had a 45 point game breaking a school record. The 2027 is a 6'3 wing that scored ten points yesterday in a game we saw, and what impressed us was the variety of things he did on the floor. Active off ball, good with a dribble, solid feet set shooter, and all of it together makes him a dependable game to game guy for SSA. And it will make him a top Class AA scorer this coming winter. Also a really good track and field athlete that, fittingly, performs well in a variety of events!
