The 6-foot-3 southpaw scoring guard earned his first Division I offer from Grambling State and following his 38-point outburst in Takoma Academy's opening game, he demanded the attention of college coaches to follow up with him on Sunday where he went for 20PTS in a win over VA Academy. Takoma only played two games on the weekend, going 1-1 behind McKenzie's 29PPG and 6RPG.

We're in a different era of high school recruiting and what I mean by that is typically the day after DMV Live you'd see a slew of offers being thrown out. With college programs being more hesitant than ever as roster construction resets each year, they need to be careful in who they prioritize. Abass' play this weekend didn't fit to that trend as the 6-foot-7 forward collected offers from LaSalle and Richmond, which account for his fourth and fifth A10 offer respectively. He recorded a double-double of 14PTS, 11REBS and 5ASTS in a win over PVI and in the other three victories, hovered closely to double-digit rebounds as well. College coaches are attracted to his tough, rugged play around the rim and the flashes of playmaking around the perimeter attacking closeouts. Certainly a valuable weekend for the DeMatha product.

The progression with Lyons' game on a big stage throughout the past two months have demanded the attention of blue-blood programs. UConn's Dan Hurley made the trip to the DMV to watch him and the core group of P5's that have been in pursuit remain a heavy presence whenever he takes the floor. North Carolina Maryland, Syracuse and VCU were the staffs who took in every game and Lyons didn't disappoint averaging 17.8PPG, 7RPG and 5APG while maintaining the dynamic playmaking he's carried over from Team USA Minicamp and NBPA Top 100.

Jones has built up significant momentum within his recruitment as well given the hot spring he's put together as the primary playmaker for [program_tooltip program_id='2076999' first='Team' last='Melo']. This weekend he had even more responsibility as the lead guard and aside from the final game against DeMatha, put together a really impressive body of work. St. Frances finished 2-2 overall and Jones' fingerprints were all over the wins. If you eliminate the last game against DeMatha, the Baltimore native was good for 27PPG, 4.6RPG and 3APG. Villanova, Virginia Tech and VCU account for just a few of the programs who were tracking him closely. All have offered the 5-foot-11 southpaw.

Woodard was one of the more highly regarded prospects in attendance and wasted no time allowing his supreme athleticism to take centerstage in the form of violent dunks, swatting shots in out of bounds and grabbing rebounds at heights that no one else on the floor could contest. His 16.5PPG, 11RPG and 3APG stat line was good for one of five players to average a double-double for the event. Mississippi State and Oklahoma State were mainstays for Woodard's games as Bishop McNamara went 3-1 in S1

Tchoubfong has been surging since making the move to Bullis, which he announced last month. The 6-foot-6 hybrid forward is a mismatch and doesn't hesitate to take smaller matchups to the mid-post where he can finish at the rim or convert his fadeaway, which is becoming a routine shot for him. Bullis is a young roster and losing Xavier Skipworth to Montverde leaves a massive void to be filled, but Tchoubfong has proven he can help soften the blow with his size and versatility at both ends. His team went 1-3 facing stiff competition, but Tchoubfong was impressive in three out of the four games averaging 19.6PPG and 8.3RPG in that span.

Adams brings nice positional size as a combo guard with plus length. While the frame still need to fill out, college coaches will be drawn with his natural scoring ability as a creative bucket-getter. For as high of a volume that Adams can hover around, he kept things very efficient this weekend as he led PGCA at 14.8PPG and 4RPG on 54/47/69 shooting splits. He's put together flashes with New World on the 3SSB Circuit, but is a much bigger threat on his high school team and will look to show the arsenal again in S2.

It would be a tough argument to say that Duran doesn't possess the prettiest jumper in the DMV right now. Whether it's off a kick-out, coming off pindowns or off the bounce, his mechanics are compact and fluid. No matter the fashion in which he gets to his shot, it leaves his hand with picture perfect rotation and despite opposing defenses being aware of his outside shooting capabilities, he was converting at a 38 percent clip (34 total attempts). Duran has the type of form and footwork that are easily translatable to the collegiate ranks, which was a main reason for Chattanooga and Towson being court side for all of McNamara's game. The Tigers' head coach Pat Skerry made his presence known as the CAA program could begin to close on the sharpshooting guard.

Etolue made a splash with his new team in Mt. Zion Prep National and with his combination of positional size, strength and athleticism, ensured that he would be on radars moving forward. His downhill attack was felt by his defender as he took advantage of driving lanes and uses his brute frame to absorb contact before finishing floaters or in some cases this weekend, one-handed dunks that made opposing bigs think twice. He's a stout defender who can guard multiple spots, rebounds with urgency and is improving his decision making as a passer off the bounce. Mt. Zion went 2-2 this weekend, with both wins coming as Etolue was their leading scorer. In those games, he recorded 20 and 18 points respectively.

DMV Live S1 has come to a close and there was no shortage of evaluations, team takeaways and prospects who took advantage of the stage to boost their stock. I start the coverage here on the Maryland site taking a look at the 2027 prospects who were topics of conversation along the sidelines.
