Difference-Makers to Watch at TABC

The TABC Showcase is coming up this weekend, and talent will be flowing at an overwhelming extent. Below are a handful of student athletes on the rise to be sure and catch live if you get the chance.    Jordan has been catching some eyes lately and it's well deserved with his superb play on both ends of the court. He makes great decisions quickly and he's not intimidated by handsy, physical defenders in the least. He's an excellent shooter with range that can stretch the floor nicely, but he makes sure his offensive game is multi-faceted with his fakes and explosive, physical drives to the rim. I love his anticipation on defense and his IQ overall; he often knows where the ball is going far before your average defenders and can stack steals for easy buckets on the fast break. He's a skilled passer and the attention he draws offensively allows him to setup his teammates with high-percentage opportunities consistently.     I've been following Shawn for a while now and he never fails to impress because he's constantly stacking extra layers to his game. He fills out a box score like a champ and he never stops working. He's a lethal defender with nice physicality and great hands to pick off passing lanes and snag steals from lazy ballhandlers. He's a freight train in the lane on his way to the rim and he thrives on physical contact and finishes through it beautifully. He's an excellent passer who knows where his shooters are and he has a solid jumper from mid-range and beyond the arc as well. He's great at creating separation with his body and footwork and his quick release and high arch allow him to sink shots over the toughest of defenders.     Shae has an impressive frame and reach and I absolutely love his footwork in the key. He's smart and strong and often overpowers his defenders down low to get easy looks at the basket. He has excellent touch in the paint and knows how to use the glass effectively. He stacks rebounds on both ends and getting his team additional possessions is a thing of regularity for him. His awareness defensively is next-level, and his hands are surprisingly sneaky for a big man. He knows how to pick pockets without getting whistled for the foul and once the ball is loose the decisions he makes on the fast break basically guarantee a conversion nearly every time.     Legend is an up-and-coming combo guard with a lethal shooting ability and a great IQ. He knows how to move effectively without the ball and get to his favorite spots easily. Once the defense catches on to his shooting accuracy, he has the skills to put it on the floor and kick to open teammates or finish through contact at the rim. He has a nice ability to create his own offense, and his impressive footwork allows him to move efficiently in the paint. He's great at using fakes to get his defenders in the air to get to the line through contact or not settle at the arc and sink a higher-percentage jumper from mid-range.     Jackson has a solid frame with an impressive wingspan, and he can stretch the floor with his shooting ability beyond the arc. He's constantly making impact plays on both ends of the floor and I love his decision-making abilities. He moves nicely on the break and knows how to finish with ease in transition. He's an excellent passer down low and never hesitates to set up a teammate with an easy bucket if there's any shred of an opportunity to do so. He's never shy when it comes to physicality and he changes the game in ways that may not show up on the box score. His hustle and heart combined with his IQ and impact playmaking make him a winning player to have on any team.     Jace is a fast, clever two-way point guard with an impressive IQ and the ability to make winning plays on both ends of the floor. His burst off the dribble is explosive and hard to contain and he's effective at finishing through contact for extra opportunities at the line. He's skilled at finding his streakers in transition and delivering passes with beautiful speed and precision. He has a nice touch on his jump shot and can stretch the floor effectively to open up plenty of space for his bigs down low. His size is fantastic for a point guard and allows him to take advantage of smaller assignments on both sides of the ball. He's a menace defensively with great anticipation and no fear of any opponent.
