Charlie Hughes Showcase: Kyler’s Player Notes Part 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There is no better event on the calendar from an evaluation or recruiting standpoint than the annual IBCA/IHSAA Charlie Hughes Showcase. This past weekend, which was a live evaluation period for Division I college coaches, most of the best teams in the state of Indiana will competed at Carmel and Westfield High Schools for an absolutely excellent three days of basketball. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage from the opening tip-off to the final buzzer all weekend long. The 5'9 point guard runs the show in the backcourt for the Panthers while also being a lights out shooter in his own right. He just could not miss from deep in the game vs Blackford. Got a chance to watch Chesterton on Friday night and was real impressed with the versatility that Kostbade brought for Chesterton. He plays with a high motor and knows how to remain active on the floor. The improvements that he has made to his over game while still maintaining a high motor and power around the rim make his upside so high. He hit multiple threes and was really good when he put the ball on the floor. He was honestly one of the more impressive prospects that I had a chance to watch one the weekend due to his motor and tough shot making at all levels. He was at his best pushing the pace in the lane and using his unique skill set to find tough angles to score. For me, it was his constant movement off the ball that stood out with him constantly staying active giving his team space to operate. Had a few nice cuts to the basket that resulted in buckets.
