The first full week of June is here, meaning the high school live period is around the corner. The 2028 class is primed to make waves this summer, especially in the back court. Here are the 2028 GMC guard prospects who could have big summers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202021' first='Aidan' last='Carter'], 6'7 PG St. Joe's Metuchen

Carter is one of the most talented prospects in the class and should put it on display this summer. The 6'7 guard plays with composure on the ball as he rarely gets sped up by on-ball pressure and rises up with confidence on his jumper. Carter has a nice touch on his floater and uses his size to see over his defender. He is a strong rebounder and uses his length to make an impact on the defensive end. Carter is a talented guard prospect who should impact the game at both ends of the floor over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2683648' first='Jayce' last='Rodriguez'], 6'2 SG Colonia

Rodriguez took a big step up during his sophomore season and is looking to take an even bigger step forward this summer. The 6'2 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Rodriguez moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He can also score in the mid-range and slides his feet on the defensive end. Rodriguez is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should torch the nets from distance over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2821721' first='Nameer' last='Burch'], 6'3 CG/PG JP Stevens

Burch has the potential to play either guard spot, which will help his game in a big way. The 6'3 guard has a good first step, which he uses to get to the rim off the bounce and finishes nicely around the rim. Burch can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He pushes the pace well in transition and uses his quick hands to get deflections on the defensive end. Burch's ability to play both spots in the backcourt is something that will help his development in a big way this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2919940' first='Jared' last='Jennings'], 5'10 PG/CG St. Thomas Aquinas

Jennings has the potential to breakout this summer as he should have the ball in his hands more. The 5'10 guard has a nice handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and can finish in a number of ways around the rim. Jennings plays with composure on the ball as he is able to get to his spot on the floor and is able to find his open teammates in the half court. He pushes the pace well in transition and works hard on the defensive end. Jennings is a gritty guard prospect who should control the pace of the game over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2814633' first='Shakeem' last='Hester'], 5'11 PG/SG North Plainfield

Hester made plays for North Plainfield throughout the course of the season, which should carry over into the summer. The 5'11 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and knows how to finish around the basket. Hester can also play off the ball as he is able to find open space for himself in the half court. He works hard on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. Hester put up a career-high 21 points toward the end of his sophomore season and is looking to have more games like that during the summer.

Other Prospects to Track:

[player_tooltip player_id='3272224' first='Joshua' last='Douchand'], 5'10 PG/SG Wardlaw-Hartridge

[player_tooltip player_id='2865405' first='Noah' last='Trindade'], 6'1 CG Sayreville

[player_tooltip player_id='2837106' first='Julian' last='Apilado'], 5'11 PG/SG St. Joe's Metuchen

[player_tooltip player_id='3574563' first='Max' last='Dashel'], 5'8 PG Old Bridge

[player_tooltip player_id='2981881' first='Owen' last='Mory'], 5'10 SG East Brunswick
