He's been one of the more improved prospects over the last three years and is playing a determined brand of basketball right now. His powerful athleticism at the rim demands your attention, the soft touch on his jumper highlights the scoring versatility and his pride defensively points to a competitive motor. Jones is a name that has gained momentum among Division I schools and there seems to be no signs of slowing down. This weekend was a reminder.

Mancho is going to need to do the heavy lifting for Mt. Carmel this season if they plan on defending their MIAA A Conference title from the 2025-26 season, but when you see him on the floor, you know he's built for it. The 6-foot-9 forward has been the Cougars' anchor for three years now and has two MIAA and one BCL crown to show for it. He was punishing bigs in the post over the weekend and while he's shown some improvement on his block touches operating with his back to the basket, he's most effective waiting along the dunker's spot where he can catch and finish through contact. As usual, his communication defensively was superb as he quarterbacked the defense from the back line. He rebounded in bulk, altered drives to the rim and set bruising screens.

Giles is a name that surfaced for me last season, but will need to be on lists of JuCo programs to prioritize this year. The 6-foot-8 forward boasts length, pop off two feet and an offensive skillset that has potential in time. He'll be one of the best bigs in the Baltimore County Public School landscape and head coach Will Watts will have this team positioned to not only win the county crown, but make a run in state tournament play as they have over the years. Having a prospect with Giles' size, motor and competitiveness is a huge advantage in their league and if he shows the signs and progressions that he did as a play finisher, rebounder and overall defensive presence that he did over the weekend, the Falcons will be a team to monitor closely.

While he stands 6-foot-4, Dunbar brings a bigger, more physical presence than most players his height. He operates often from the high-post or the top of the key and tries to get downhill where he'll initiate contact, finishing through harm. He'll rock the rim off two feet when he's playing off other's penetration and can be a handful in transition with a head of steam. At the high school level, Dunbar poses as a mismatch given his ability to take smaller, weaker guards in the post and being able to beat taller forwards with his quick first step.

Look for Colvin to have a breakout year in the MIAA B Conference as he's easily the most athletic prospect the league has to offer. His production and improvements this spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2077005' first='Team' last='Thrill'] MHC 17s has resulted in him getting pulled up to the Thrill UA squad as they try to make a run at the circuit title next month. He gets off the ground quickly and can play with his eyes at the rim on lobs or straight-line drives. You also see the athleticism in play as he skies for rebounds among the trees and snags them at their peak. He's a high-energy player who brings versatility defensively and judging off the progression with his body and skill over the past year, the best basketball remains ahead for Colvin.

Ezeaputa has been an interesting prospect since his freshman season as a lengthy forward with potential to blossom into a small college prospect. Fast forward to his senior season and he's turned into just that. What sticks out about him is that he can find his opportunities without dribbling the air out of the ball, impacting the flow of the offense or even needing sets run specifically for him. He runs the floor with purpose, can toggle between multiple positions defensively and consistently finishes his looks from 15 feet and in.

Whitaker was a name I consistently heard when scanning the Howard County area as a big who could develop into a useful small college prospect. Reservoir battled all weekend and Whitaker had plenty of spurts where he was the catalyst for their success. He plays with strength around the rim where he can maintain leverage/position for block touches or rebounds. He's an active mover and effective roller out of ball screens. His hands are dependable on dump-offs where he has good timing in stepping into the delivery and hammering two-handed flushes. There's a lot to like with Whitaker and I'd expect his recruitment to pick up as a result sooner rather than later.
