South Finals: 15U Floor Generals

Some student athletes possess leadership qualities that stand out strongly and quickly on the floor, whether that be through communication, active listening, or setting the bar. The players below displayed those qualities this past weekend at the South Finals.    Xavier is a smart, impactful combo guard that seems to make all the right decisions on both ends of the floor. He's fast but he never seems hurried or stressed. Always calm and working his way into the best opportunities he sees as they develop. He's a leader by example with the way he carries himself and never lets a bad play affect the next one coming. I love his footwork and his ballhandling ability. His patience is key and blends well with his teammates, allowing them t get into positions for easy buckets. Battee is a winning player that is only going to get better with time.     Will is a resilient, talented shooting guard that can be key into turning the game in your favor late in regulation. He shows no nerves in the clutch, only focus. He knows how to get to the line and isn't afraid to be aggressive with his drives into the paint. He has great hands and can stack steals and create consistent havoc defensively. He leads through his dependability. His teammates lean on him when they need a late bucket or a quick stop to sway the momentum their way. Ellis sees the floor incredibly well and can predict plays as they develop.     Zy'Deair is a long, smart combo guard that works incredibly well in the pick and roll and makes a significant impact on both ends of the floor. He has an impressive ballhandling ability and his drives are strong off the dribble. He meshes nicely with his bigs and seems to always know exactly where they want the ball for easy finishes. He's solid on the defensive end and never gets flustered or too high or too low. His focus on the task at hand is intense and dialed in. Hill is a guard that can change the game for your entire squad with his IQ and playmaking ability.     LaPrince is a fearless, speedy point guard that knows how to keep his team in games and never quits on any play he's involved in. He's a maniacal defender and he has the ability to make his opponent miserable with tight, full court coverage and great hands to snatch the ball at any moment. He's skilled at playing through contact and getting to the line with regularity. He leads by showing how willing he is to put his body on the line for his squad. If facing a deficit, he doesn't get discouraged, he gets to work and makes the right plays time and time again.     Jude is a fiery, sharpshooting combo guard that possesses the toughness necessary to take on the most difficult defenders. He has active hands that consistently disrupt his opponent's plans and lead to plenty of extra possessions for his team. He can get on hot streaks and score in volume. He seems to have a zone that's tough to shake him from for any defender once he finds it. He has a nice ballhandling ability and can create his own shots. He moves well without the ball as well, getting to his spots regularly where he knows he can knock it down with ease.
