May UAA/UA Rise Notebook: Front-Court Mainstays

We've had a ton of coverage already from our trip to Hamilton, Ohio to cover the May Live Period with UAA and UA Rise. We've talked about the top glue guys and shot makers, now we're going to focus on the standouts in the front-court. Let's take a deeper look at some of the top big guys from NC that played at UA this past weekend!

Miller continues to prove himself as a factor in this North Carolina 2028 class after a strong finish to the season at Ambassador Christian and a super solid first half of the travel ball season with Top Shot UAA 16u. This past weekend during the live period, Miller averaged 10.8 Points and 6.3 Rebounds per game while shooting 69% from the floor. Miller has great hands and high quality footwork on the low block that allows him to showcase his quality touch around the basket. Miller can pass out of double teams and act as a connector on the offensive end. He's always on the glass at both ends of the floor and stands tall defensively on the interior. Look for Moore to continue to showcase his overall game this spring/summer with this group and mold himself into the prospect he's capable of becoming.

Dubose is a super strong mismatch forward that has been providing a real spark for this A Wigg Elite UAA 16u group as his versatile game showed up in Hamilton this weekend. Dubose possesses the ability to make outside shots along with using his strong frame on the interior while being able to rebound beyond his area due to his high quality hands. On this A Wigg Elite team he had multiple big performances in Ohio and is really finding his footing amongst the other pieces on this roster. Dubose has genuinely elite hands that catch almost everything around the rim in traffic and he's able to use that strong base to finish in the interior amongst taller bigs. Look for Dubose to continue to establish himself as a bonafide next level prospect in this stacked NC 2028 class.

Chase does so many things well for this [program_tooltip program_id='2375668' first='SW15H' last='Elite'] UA Rise 17u group as a strong interior presence, blending that with his outside touch and presence on the glass to create a complete option in the front-court. Chase looks to be flourishing in the role that this team has aligned for him. Chase is comfortable operating in multiple areas on the floor and is a genuine threat to score or make a play for a teammate in all of them. He can score with his back to the basket, roll or pop off of a ball screen, and showcase his above the rim ability. Chase has the ability to bruise with stronger bigs and finish with physicality along with being mobile enough to provide some versatility defensively. He'll continue to garner real next level attention after the live period as we head into June.

Miller had a really strong showing with TLBA UA Rise 15u this past weekend with his inside/out offensive ability on full display. Miller blends his low post scoring over either shoulder with soft touch from beyond the arc off the catch when set. He's a fundamentally sound young big man that brought consistent production and a real strong presence on the interior for this group. Defensively, he walls up well, competes with multiple efforts for rebounds when needed, and provides this group with an anchor on that end of the floor. Miller is a young big man in the 2029 class worth monitoring closely as he's showing really promising signs at these early stages.

Brown is a guy who continues to just have his presence all over a game every time we see him for Top Shot UAA 17u as he's constantly around the rim at both ends of the floor. Brown's calling card is what he can provide on the defensive end of the floor. He's a great shot blocker with his ability to extend himself vertically and make multiple efforts to protect the rim while being extremely switchable and able to guard smaller guys at a really high level for a kid of his size. On the offensive end, Brown runs the floor hard, has shown massive improvement in his hands to become a viable lob threat, while being a presence in the dunker spot to finish easy dump offs. The difference making ability defensively to go with the low maintenance on the offensive end makes Brown a priority for many division one coaches.

Seale provides this [program_tooltip program_id='2375668' first='SW15H' last='Elite'] UA Rise 17u group with a reliable interior presence that finds himself in the right place at the right time at both ends of the floor. Seale has nice touch around the rim to go with soft hands that make him a great safety valve for dump offs in the half court. Seale competes on both backboards to complete stops or get extra possessions for his team. He also is a very capable connector on the offensive end, proving to be a reliable piece as this team executes their stuff. Seale has also shown flashes of hitting outside shots and continues to mold himself into a next level player and provide real production on this talented roster.
