With the first and only live period of the spring coming up this weekend, here's a look at part one of some of the spring stock risers we've seen locally in the Richmond area so far.

[player_tooltip player_id='3275784' first='Donovan' last='Stinney'] | 6'6” PF | [program_tooltip program_id='2248971' first='River' last='City Reign'] '27

Stinney is one of the more intriguing prospects in the RVA area, as the 6'6” forward is chock full of potential and is just now tapping into how good he can be moving forward. He has long arms and is a big time athlete running the floor and finishing above the rim, he can switch and guard multiple positions and is able to challenge and block shots both on the perimeter and around the rim, and he is a versatile weapon offensively with his ability to play on the perimeter and finish around the rim too.

[player_tooltip player_id='3275771' first='Jovin' last='Johnson'] | 6'7” PF | Team [program_tooltip program_id='2416185' first='Loaded' last='804'] Gold '27

Johnson is another player that is starting to turn potential into production, as the 6'7” forward from Glen Allen has been fantastic so far this spring. He plays hard and with a great motor on both ends of the floor, he has excellent timing and discipline challenging shots at the rim, he can run the floor and finish in transition, and he can impact the game in a lot of ways without needing the ball in his hands,.

[player_tooltip player_id='3275748' first='Bodi' last='Corley'] | 6'7” PF | Team Richmond HGSL '27

Corley is another big man that coaches should be all over when they get the chance to watch him, as the 6'7” forward is a dominant paint presence who is fearless around the rim. He tries to dunk everything in the paint and succeeds more than he fails, he draws contact and gets to the line where he's a good free throw shooter, he can work in the high post as a shot maker and a distributor, and he's just scratching the surface with how good he can be moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2966558' first='Shamir' last='Williams'] | 6'1” CG | Local Legends NXT '27

Williams is coming off of a huge season with LC Bird where he emerged as one of the top scorers in the Richmond area, and he's ready to show coaches what he can do on the PUMA Circuit as well. The 6'1” combo can handle the ball and get in the lane where he can make plays for others, he thrives in a pressure defense where he can suffocate the ball and is great jumping passing lanes, and he really shines with his ability to work off the ball and knock down shots from deep with his quick release and ability to set his feet on the move and make tough shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='3571138' first='Jackson' last='Rutley'] | 6'4” WG | [program_tooltip program_id='2078813' first='VA' last='Premier'] HGSL '27

Rutley is emerging as one of the more underrated players in the Richmond area, and it's easy to see why with his blend of size, athleticism and skillset that he possesses. The 6'4” wing is great off the ball with his ability to come off of screens or relocate on drives and knock down shots on the move, he can play on the ball with the ability to create separation and make shots from multiple levels, and he's a big time athlete whether it's in transition with his above the rim finishing ability or his defensive play which has him projecting as a great “3 and d” prospect moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2898023' first='Christian' last='Tabb'] | 6'3” CG | Virginia Havoc '27

Tabb is one of the few pure bucket getting guards you'll find on the UA Rise Circuit this summer, as he can absolutely fill it up in bunches and in a lot of different ways. At 6'3” he has great size for his position and is a good athlete as well, he is shifty off the bounce with the ability to create space and make tough shots from all three levels, he can get out in transition and use his athleticism to finish, and he's super confident that the next one will go in and start a run for himself as well.
