Intriguing Prospects Debuting in the 2030 Watch List

This is the first look at the 2030 class, and it looks like it has the makings to be a special class. There are going to be young players that get varsity minutes already as a freshman, and others that we saw in our first two tourneys to start the Spring who are worth keeping an eye on. You don't want to miss any of our scouting.     Crosby is a guard who we got to see for Next Level that has us excited to see how the game evolves for him. He popped in a couple of the games that we watched him as he's very active defensively and turns those plays into scoring opportunities the other way. He's a in your face defender who moves his feet well, plays the passing lanes, and creates chaos with anticipation, and we saw him a couple of times with steals as well. He certainly plays with an edge that changes momentum and that turns into easy baskets for him as well. Crosby showed that he knew when to cut, he sets hard screens and rolls, and plays well off-ball. He's a competitor who you put on the floor, and he should be a name to know at Prospect Ridge Academy in the future. We want to see more of him this summer and heading into the season.     We watched Guernsey with State 38 a few weeks back and knew he'd be making the watch list with his play. He's an impactful player whose activity and pace let us know that there's something there. He's very active defensively as a physical defender who plays tight, takes charges, and gets up into opposing guards, and he had some steals that turned into baskets. We thought it was all defense, and that is when the offense turned on. He attacked in isolation, used a quick first step, and got into the teeth of the defense. He also knocked down mid-range and 3-pointers to keep the defense guessing and helped secure a couple of wins for his team. Graham seems to be versatile, and that was noticeable in the Spring. We want to see it come together for the rest of the Summer.     We saw Cotton as a standout at our tourney a couple of weeks back for Rocky Mountain Rebound, and he's a player that people will be hearing about in the next year. I just know it. He is a true floor general, and he quietly controlled stretches of games in that tourney with his pace and decision-making. He's a facilitator who consistently made the right read, pushed tempo when opportunities opened up, and kept teammates involved offensively. That is what you ask for in a PG. Defensively, he mirrored that same energy with pressure and active hands and pushed guards into the helpside. Cotton stands out for me because he doesn't force too much and lets the game come to him, which you don't see too much at this age. I want to see how that translates as he plays with his high school team, but certainly a player who makes our watch list as a player to keep an eye on.     Roth is a player who caught our attention to start the Spring as he's a prospect who has an intriguing skill combination. He's physical around the basket, very active not eh boards and impactful defensively. He fills a ton of holes. While those all say big man, he then showed he's capable of knocking down the 3-ball and confidently stretching the floor. That versatility changes things. You can see the framework of a versatile beginning to emerge, and those perimeter flashes make him a player we want to see more of moving forward. He made the watch list debut after having a solid Spring with Rise.     Acosta is a player who continued to pop for me throughout the Spring for State 38 as he shows flashes of a player whose role could continue growing quickly, and we want to see it as he gets into team ball in June, as well as the rest of the summer. He checked off many boxes as he protected the paint well, rotated defensively with discipline, and didn't foul. In the games that we saw in our event, he came up with a few blocks, got some deflections, and was not easily backed down. He can stretch the floor on offense as a mid-post flasher and can get downhill as well. He's firmly on the watch list moving into the Summer and we certainly want to see more.     Goodell is a player we did not know about heading into club season, but that quickly changed as he became a top performer at our event a couple of weeks back for Rocky Mountain Rebound, as he was very impactful with his movement, and he got after it on both ends of the floor. His toughness shone through as he is a glass cleaner; he created extra possession for his teammates, went right up with boards, and got out and scored in transition. Defense is where he can make his bread and butter as he anticipates passing lanes with steals, stays engaged, and just seems to be in the right spots. He's still growing into his overall game, but the willingness to commit to doing the dirty work absolutely caught our attention.
