The GASO Madness was a tournament built for highlighting the future prospects of Texas high school basketball and the next classes set for exposure are 2026 and 2027. Several of these players were hoopers I had never watched before last weekend and they certainly caught my eye with some impressive attributes and skills they put on display. Without further ado, here are some key players for 2026 and 2027 who made their way onto my radar.

[player_tooltip player_id='2817352' first='Marshaun' last='Bard'] was a speedy and shifty point guard playing for Cowboys 17u last weekend and showcased his talents in some big games. Bard has quickness and an elite dribble package to beat defenders off the dribble with a quick first step out of the triple threat and he knows how to get to his spots and knock down shots. I liked his playmaking when the defense was keyed in on him, passing it to open teammates with clean looks at the basket.

Jacob Schmitt was a sharpshooter from deep and showcased high off ball IQ movement combined with smart shot selection. He was critical in the blowout win for FOE due to his court awareness on both ends and unselfish nature with the ball. His ability to be the first one down the court on fastbreaks was essential to quick buckets and his team getting out in transition.

I first watched Chris play with the Texas Magic a year or two back in Farmers Branch and his game has improved tremendously since then. He stays aggressive on defense, which causes opposing team turnovers, and he has some quick speed with the ball in his hands. He attacked the basket relentlessly and drew multiple fouls, showing ability to convert at the foul stripe. I liked his tenacious energy and hustle for loose balls as well.

Logan showcased his size and speed at the wing position during Miles Select's game on Saturday afternoon. Voisin rises above defenders at the basket and displays good shooting mechanics on his form in the midrange and smooth footwork under the basket. He has good passing instincts out of the post and his wherewithal on defense helps his team tremendously, especially when defending the paint. Look for him to continue his momentum into next school year with Deer Park as part of the upcoming senior class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2558666' first='Ryan' last='Longoria'] is a wiry guard with a smooth touch on his jumper and a quick release to get shots up over closing out defenders. I was able to watch Ryan in a few of his games for RTX Hoops and he never hesitate to let the ball fly from deep when left the slightest bit of space. Ryans consistent off ball movement helps to create looks for himself and his teammates from three point land and he takes advantage of opposing players being careless with the ball on defense.
