Clash of the Titans: 16U Standouts

He moved the ball well for someone his size, serving as the passer in high-low actions and swinging the ball to shooters. Gilhool also put up a few points of his own by cleaning the glass, going to work in the low post, and draining a pull-up three. Most of all, he got active on defensive, around the basket and in space. They got him going on the first three possessions with quick touches in the post. Hamilton was even more difficult to contain on-the-go. He sliced to the hoop for layups off-the-catch and detonated at the rim with fastbreak dunks. With a tween cross, he buried his first three, then hit a second while spotting-up. Norris III created transition opportunities as well, stealing the ball or rebounding in traffic and laying it up before the defense could get set. He hit a third triple and got key stops on defense late to secure the win. 15p 7r 3a 3s</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2876205' first='James' last='Walker'] | G 6'2 DC Assault P32</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Walker didn't get the start, but he was immediately in-rhythm once he came in. After seeing the ball go through the net on a fastbreak layup, he began capitalizing on tilted defenses with plays off of closeouts. His feel for the game allowed him to find opportunities to score, whether he was cutting, attacking on the move, or hunting missed shots off of the glass. The Cherry Hill-native drilled SIX threes off the bench. His three makes and nine points in the first half weren't enough. He followed that up in the second with drives to the cup where he lofted the ball up over outstretched arms for two-pointers.
