14U Breakout Performers from the Centennial State Cup

We will be taking a look at some breakout performances from Saturday at Westlake MS. These are the prospects that were able to turn heads with their performances and made an impact throughout the event.    Elder emerged as one of the top performers in the 14U division, delivering a well rounded and impactful showing from start to finish. Defensively, he was highly active in the passing lanes, using anticipation and quick reactions to create turnovers. Once he secured the ball, Elder wasted no time pushing the pace, consistently getting out in transition and finishing effectively at the rim. In the half court, he demonstrated the ability to create for himself, attacking the paint and finishing over taller defenders with confidence. He also showed range by stepping out and knocking down shots from beyond the arc. He was able to be a standout performer that was able to make an impact in all his games.     Bonner showcased impressive versatility and poise, particularly for his size, as he took on primary ball handling responsibilities in game 1. He displayed strong court vision, consistently playing the passing lanes on defense and turning those opportunities into quick offensive transitions. Bonner excelled at pushing the ball up the court, creating open looks for his teammates. His ability to handle the ball under pressure allowed him to control the tempo and initiate the offense effectively. In addition to facilitating, he attacked the defense and created open looks, demonstrating a well rounded offensive skill set. Bonner's performance highlighted his ability to impact the game as both a playmaker and a floor general.     Kauffman proved to be a reliable scoring option, particularly in key moments where his ability to knock down clutch three pointers kept his team competitive. His confidence from beyond the arc stood out, as he consistently stepped into shots and delivered when needed most. Beyond his scoring, Kauffman contributed on the boards, showing a willingness to compete and secure rebounds in traffic. His efforts helped limit second chance opportunities for the other team, adding value on the defensive end. Kauffman's combination of timely shooting and physical play made him an important contributor and a player who could shift momentum with his performances.     Baltzer demonstrated a balanced offensive skill set, combining physicality inside with shooting ability on the perimeter. He was effective attacking the paint, finishing through contact and earning trips to the free throw line. Baltzer showed toughness and composure in those situations, converting opportunities and putting pressure on the defense. In addition to his inside game, he displayed a smooth shooting touch, stepping out beyond the three point line and knocking down shots with confidence. His quick release made him a constant threat, particularly when given space. Baltzer also contributed on the offensive glass, securing rebounds and getting easy second chance points. His versatility made him a difficult matchup throughout the event.     Roth delivered a strong performance built on effort, versatility and physical presence. In the paint, he was active on the boards, consistently fighting for offensive rebounds and creating additional scoring opportunities for his team. Defensively, he made his presence felt by altering shots and recording blocks, making it difficult for opponents to score inside. What separated Roth from many players in his role was his ability to extend the defense, as he stepped out and knocked down four three pointers in a game against Noco. This combination of interior presence and perimeter shooting added a unique dimension to his game. Roth's all-around impact made him one of the more intriguing 14U prospects in attendance.
