Virginia 2027 High Academic Prospects to Watch

Here's a look at a handful of 2027 prospects who not only produce at a high level on the court but also excel in the classroom. These well rounded student-athletes have the potential to draw interest from basketball programs at some of the nation's top academic colleges and universities.    Gregory is a skilled 6'9 junior forward who is off to a strong start with Team Loaded this spring. He shows good touch around the rim, can step out and pick and pop to the three point line, and is capable of scoring over either shoulder on the block. With better than average athleticism and continued physical development, he brings a versatile and expanding offensive skill set to the frontcourt.     One of the state's top shot makers, he returned from injury to help Handley capture a state title this season. A skilled wing who really knows how to play, he consistently makes shots and brings a polished offensive approach. He has decent strength and the ability to create space with a bounce or two, making him an effective scoring threat on the perimeter.     An All-State selection this season, Farley is making the move to Hargrave Military for his senior year and got off to a strong start with the Virginia Playmakers at the Pitt Jam Fest. A ball handling guard who can really shoot it, he combines a high basketball IQ with good foot speed and the ability to impact the game both on and off the ball.     Lessley is a skilled combo forward with good size and a high basketball IQ, earning Second Team All-Region honors this season. He brings offensive versatility with the ability to pick and pop and knock down shots from beyond the arc, while also creating in the midrange off the dribble. With good length and consistent rebounding production, he impacts the game in multiple areas on both ends of the floor.     An All-State selection this season, Seaborn is a versatile guard capable of playing either backcourt position. He has good strength, plays with toughness, and does a nice job seeing the floor and finding open teammates. He can get into the paint to create offense and is comfortable scoring or facilitating depending on what his team needs. His recent selection to the Canadian U17 National Team Camp further highlights his rising profile as a prospect.
