LOS ANGELES — MADE Hoops hosted its West Mania event last weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center which featured 15 courts under one roof and provided the ideal viewing experience for scouting purposes. The event featured a strong contingent of shoe circuit teams from the 17u level to the 15u level and below we break down ten of the underclass standouts from the 15u games we were able to watch.

This was the second-straight weekend where we saw Acy kind of do whatever he wanted on the floor and most of it has to do with how much more physical and athletic he is than most others at his age group. The 6-foot-5 wing boasts an ideal frame and positional size with fluid and explosive athleticism that he uses to his advantage on transition and half-court drives and finishes. Acy is also an effective offensive and defensive rebounder who has elite defensive potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='3520104' first='Braylon' last='Sherwood'] | 2029 | Oakland Soldiers 15u

Sherwood is coming off of a strong freshman campaign at SoCal-based Chaminade high school and flashed his all-around skill-set at West Mania. The well-built 6-foot-4 wing uses his combination of physicality, transition aggressiveness and athleticism to absorb and finish through contact when getting downhill and to the rim. Sherwood also impacts the game with his high motor effort and energy on both sides of the floor.

Bre'vynn Johnson | 2029 | Oakland Soldiers 15u

Johnson has a case as the most explosive athlete in the ‘29 class out west and it might not be close. The 6-foot guard has elite vertical pop which led to numerous above-the-rim finishes in transition and half-court offense off of drives and lobs. Not only is Johnson a vertical athlete but a lateral, downhill and quick-twitch one, as well, which leads to him being a disruptive defender and good positional rebounder.

Darrelreon Morris | 2029 | Paul George Elite 15u

Morris is a player who you know will always bring a high level of toughness and competitiveness to both ends of the floor. He's an active, high energy and disruptive on-ball defender who uses his defense to create transition offense for himself and teammates. Morris showed improved confidence and shot-making ability from three-point range, as well.

Judah Van Ewijk | 2029 | Oakland Soldiers 15u

Van Ewijk is trending as one of the most intriguing combo guard prospects in the state's 2029 class. What makes the 6-foot-2 NorCal-product special is his natural feel for the game and how smoothly and innately the playmaking comes to him. Van Ewijk never looks sped up, handles pressure, and makes smart decisions without turning the ball over. He also allows scoring opportunities to come to him without forcing bad shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2935311' first='Louis' last='Harris'] | 2029 | Northwest Rotary Rebels 15u

Harris is a fluid and smooth athlete with a 6-foot-8 frame complete with length and room to build. He was at his best as a slasher, driver and soft-touched finisher around the rim with good hands and feet. Harris was active and aggressive when running the floor in transition and showed some face, rip and drive ability when facing up. Pretty thin and gangly at this point in his development and will be interesting to see how his body fills out.

Omar Muhammad | 2030 | Northwest Rotary Rebels 15u

Muhammad always seems to add something new to his game each time I see him. He possesses obvious physical and athletic tools that you don't see come around often - quick-twitch, explosive, fast, strong, and not afraid of physicality. Over the weekend he was confident shooting the open catch-and-shoot and off-dribble threes while still wow'ing the crowds with his explosive, above-the-rim finishing ability.

TJ Walton | 2029 | Northwest Rotary Rebels 15u

Walton had a strong freshman season at Eastvale Roosevelt and showed that he belonged in the conversation of top 2029 prospects in the state. The 6-foot-1 point guard showed great control, pace and a high playmaking IQ in transition and out of ball screens in half-court offense. Walton created for himself and others in the pick-and-roll and was effective as a pull-up jump shooter going to his left hand.

Victor Norris III | 2029 | Northwest Rotary Rebels 15u

Norris is a true scoring guard whose crafty ball handling and shiftiness in isolation allow him to create space from his defender and hit off-bounce mid-range and three-point shots with consistency. The 6-foot-1 freshman out of Portland also used his strong frame and physicality to play through contact and finish at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767777' first='Will' last='Conroy, Jr.'] | 2029 | Paul George Elite 15u

Conroy continues to show that he is one of the most polished underclass guards that we've seen out west in quite some time. His sturdily-built 5-foot-10 frame, combined with his smooth pace and feel allow him to take over a game with physicality, scoring and creating for himself and others. Conroy's offensive game is well-packaged, complete with efficient three-level scoring ability and a high basketball IQ, which is to be expected from a prospect who has been around as much high level basketball as he has.
