When talking about some of the top 15U teams in the Dakotas, [program_tooltip program_id='2228190' first='TEAM' last='Warwick'] 15U Ulvestad has quickly put itself in that conversation. Led by head coach Andrew Ulvestad, this group has already shown strong early-season results and the kind of balance that makes them a tough matchup for anyone on the floor.

Through their first stretch of tournament play, Warwick has impressed with consistent winning, including success while even playing up a division. What stands out most is their versatility—this is a team that can beat you in multiple ways. They feature strong guard play that keeps the offense flowing, combined with bigs who run the floor well and finish plays inside. Offensively, they've done a great job sharing the ball, spacing the floor, and playing unselfish basketball, leading to balanced scoring across the roster.

This group thrives on IQ and fundamentals. They play organized, understand their roles, and move with purpose on both ends of the floor. While their shooting has been solid with room to grow, their ability to create quality looks and involve multiple contributors has been a major strength. Defensively, their length and emphasis on protecting the paint and finishing possessions with rebounds give them the tools to continue improving as the season goes on.

What makes this team especially intriguing is their upside. With a close-knit group, strong habits, and attention to detail, Warwick looks like a team that could continue to rise as the spring and summer progress.

"Much of this team spent their seasons having great success at the lower levels of the top class in South Dakota. [player_tooltip player_id='2836129' first='Camden' last='Jones'] has some varsity experience as one of the leading scorers on his Dell Rapids team. This group of players has played together for 3 years now, so they are a really tight-knit group. They shoot the ball really well from top to bottom; each player has the ability to stretch the floor. We play with great pace and we share the basketball. Our offensive discipline is off the charts. So far, our points of emphasis are on the defensive end and on the glass. If we can clean that up, our upside is unlimited. Each game, we have the potential for different leading scorers, but I do expect us to have high assists and low turnovers as the season goes on. I expect us to be one of the best teams in the Dakotas, and we'll have an opportunity to showcase our style at a national level as well." -Andrew Ulvestad

PHD: How has the team looked so far?

"As of April 26, we have competed in two tournaments, going 3-1 in each tournament for an overall record of 6-2, one tournament played in the 16U division. We've really shared the ball well through 8 games. I like how versatile we can be, with both strong guard play and post play. Our BIGs have been running the floor well. Our leading scorers so far have included [player_tooltip player_id='2442367' first='Cohen' last='Soukup'] (10.5 ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='2836129' first='Camden' last='Jones'] (10.1 ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='2442360' first='Preston' last='Gasca'] (9.0 ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='2519350' first='Kalen' last='Kvistero'] (8.2 ppg), and [player_tooltip player_id='2442378' first='John' last='Nolan'] (8.1 ppg). We haven't shot the bell as well as I think we can, so I expect that to improve. Cam Jones and [player_tooltip player_id='2442366' first='Charlie' last='Erickson'] guide the offense, with both having 25 assists or more. We have pushed the ball well and spaced it well on offense. Versatility is the key description of our team."
