About Charlie
Expert Analysis
Jeremy Skoglund | Prep Hoops Scout
Charlie has a ton of poise for his age. He wants the ball and knows what to do with it. I watched Charlie set up his man and take a step 3 with under a minute remaining to tie a game in Sioux Falls this past summer. Just ice in his veins and great game awareness.

If TEAM Warwick 14U-1 Ulvestad ends up making a deep run in the tournament, Charlie will be one that had played expectionally well. He’s a key guy for them, running the point and pushing the action, and has sort of an X-factor feel in this type of tournament.

Charlie is a true point guard that competes on both ends. An impact transition point guard that pushes the pace consistently and quick. No real weaknesses to his game. Elite handle, passing skill, distributor, and 3-point shooter. Defends the ball hard and pressures the ball.

Charlie made a case to have been a first-team selection as well. It was close because Erickson pretty much makes the TEAM Warwick 14U Ulvestad team go on the offensive end. He sets the pace, playing super fast and quick in the open court. He pushes up quickly nearly every possession and puts a ton of pressure on a back-peddling defense. He’s looking for teammates in transition and will also take scoring opportunities if he sees an opening. High-level skill from the point, as a ball-handler and 3-point shooter. I really can’t think of any weaknesses to his game, because he competes and brings quickness and intensity on defense as well.

Erickson has the makings of a next-level point guard that can really do it all, with his deep bag and skillset. He’s elite in his handle, playmaking passing, and is one of the top 3-point shooters I’ve seen in the 2029 class. He shot the three at a very high level off the catch in Omaha. Most likely a top 3 three-point shooter in the class, and his elite passing is also something that should never go unmentioned. He makes some passes that kids his age cannot make, and they’re mostly right on the money for his teammates to score at the hoop. He can throw long passes over and through the defense. Charlie brings some intensity on D as well. He will hound the ball-handler and will come off his man to help the drive, looking for a tip or steal in the process.
