Not every notable move in the rankings happens inside the Top 100, and this update brought plenty of fresh names into the mix beyond that cutoff. South Carolina's 2028 class continues to show impressive depth, with a number of prospects earning their way onto the board through steady development, strong performances, and growing upside. These newcomers may be outside the Top 100 for now, but they've put themselves firmly on the radar moving forward.

Dye had an excellent season at 1A Great Falls, putting up 15 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, and 3 assists per game. He is a very ball-dominant player for them, and it often ends up with a good look for him or a teammate. Vroncayce holds offers from Amherst University and United International College.

Zavion is one of the top-ranked Point Guards outside the top 100 of the Prep Hoops South Carolina 2028 Rankings. He came on late with the Silver Foxes this year, including a 9-assist game near the end of the region slate. Anthony has a remarkable feel for reading defenses and setting up teammates, especially when you take into account his age and experience level. Keep an eye on him with [program_tooltip program_id='2078753' first='Upward' last='Stars Columbia'] this spring.

Next up is another young playmaker who I'm excited to see take another step during the AAU season. Lucas is as quick as they come with the ball in his hands. It looks like he is flying around on the offensive end, and it's impressive to watch him make reads and plays at such high speed. Snoddy played a huge role in the Tigers' turnaround this year, putting up 10.6 points per game, 2.8 assists per game, and 2.4 steals per game.

Jones had some similar numbers to Snoddy in 2025-26, going for 8.0 points per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 1.3 steals per game. Clinton played at a much more methodical pace, with the sound, team defense helping carry them to the Third Round of the Class AAA Playoffs. Christian was their Point Guard, however, and his balance of scoring and passing helped keep defenses off guard.

After putting up over 8 points per game with 36 made threes in 2025-26, Kellen earned a spot in the March Rankings Update. He is one of the best shooters outside the top 100, showcasing that with both Christian Academy and [program_tooltip program_id='2830220' first='Palmetto' last='Pride NXT Pro']. Although he is at his best as a spot-up shooter, McMullen can also make plays and finish at the rim in spots. As he improves that with age and development, he could be one to rise in the rankings.

Kershaw makes his debut in the Prep Hoops SC Rankings at #121. He could be the next line to take over the PG1 spot in the future. The Yellow Jackets will lose one of their best players in recent school history, but they have a strong group of freshmen and sophomores who look ready to help fill the void. Keyshawn is at his best when his offensive impact matches his defensive intensity, both of which could become more consistent with a larger role down the line.

Dawson had an excellent sophomore year playing both football and basketball for the Yellow Jackets. He's QB1 on the gridiron, but on the hardwood, he was a crucial role player who helped fill many voids to help create a successful unit. Fowler can make his presence felt without the ball as a screener, communicator, and rebounder, plus he has some decent touch and is a strong passer when he does have the rock.

Another multi-sport athlete who was added to the rankings this month is Wilson. Drew plays above his listed size because of a strong frame and good bounce. He is at his best close to the rim, where he can clean the glass, finish in the paint, or impact shots. He had some very tough defensive assignments playing in one of the best regions in the state this year, but no doubt he'll be better for it over his final two seasons.

It was an up-and-down season for the Bobcats this year, but one of the bright spots was Andre's development. He checks in at #132 in his debut, but he has the speed and playmaking ability to make a jump if he continues to grow physically. Seay never shies away from physical contact, whether that's finishing through it or creating it defensively, he can be counted on to be a consistent source of energy when on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='3317975' first='Charles' last='Callaham'] rounds out the new additions to the Prep Hoops South Carolina Class of 2028 Rankings. Although he has some pretty evident potential in just year two, Charles was ready this year to step up and lead the Hornets with 14.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 2.0 steals per game. He caught my eye at the Lakelands FCA Holiday Tournament, and if he can shoot it as well as he did that day consistently, he'll have no problem earning the accolades he deserves.
