LADERA RANCH — Session 1 of the adidas-led 3SSB circuit tipped off last Friday morning with some of the top prospects from around the country making their way to OGP Ladera for the three-day event. We got our eyes on a number of nationally-ranked prospects and some unranked players who could see their names in the Top 150 at some point within the next year. In this piece we pick our First Team All Session 1 performers.

*Important Notes: To keep it California-centric, each All-Session 1 team will contain at least ONE player from the state. The selections are based on the ability for the five-man squad to be able to function together on the floor. Team record and individual statistics are equally considered for selection.

G: Jalen Davis | 2027 | Slow Grind Elite

Davis might be the best all-around scoring guard on the 3SSB circuit and has the numbers to back that up. The 6-foot-3 junior broke onto the national scene last year with Beauchamp Elite and is carrying that momentum over with Slow Grind Elite. Davis is an old-fashioned bucket-getter whose three-level efficiency and ability to impact the game within the confines of an offense stood out over the weekend. Davis averaged 24 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

G: Kamari Whyte | 2027 | New Heights

White's two-way impact led to New Heights' dominant showing at OGP Ladera. The 6-foot-3 combo guard was one of the more physically-imposing and tough on-ball defenders that we saw on the weekend and his ability to disrupt ball handlers led to turnovers and easy transition offense on the other end. Whyte's combination of downhill attacks, physical through-contact finishes and overall aggressive mindset helped lead the New Jersey-based club to a 4-0 record on the weekend. Whyte averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game.

G: Mason Martin | 2027 | Breakaway Basketball

There were a lot of good three-point shooters in the building but no one matched what Martin did from behind-the-arc. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard led Session 1 with 5.8 made threes per game, including a game with 10 triples in a win over Garner Road. Martin has the size, quick release and dynamic off-ball movement to create open looks for himself or knock down heavily-contested jumpers. He averaged 22.8 points per game during Session 1.

G: [player_tooltip player_id='2435359' first='Jeremiah' last='Profit'] | 2027 | Gamepoint

Profit is our California representative on the first team and he earned the spot with his all-around play. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard/wing led the 17u level in scoring at 25 points per game and did it with impressive efficiency as he shot 68.5% from the field and 35 percent from three-point range. Most of Profit's non-threes were on explosive drives and finishes in transition or quick rips and finishes in the half-court. Profit always brings a high motor, toughness and effort to the floor, which helped Gamepoint to a 3-1 record on the weekend.

F/C: [player_tooltip player_id='1555179' first='Darius' last='Wabbington'] | 2027 | Compton Magic

Wabbington looks to be on a mission to prove that he is the most skilled all-around big man in the country and it started over the weekend with him seeing a ton of reps in a point-forward role. The 6-foot-10 Arizona-based junior was handling and making decisions in ball screens with other big men and inverted style with guards as the screen setters. Wabbington's combination of basketball IQ, a solid handle and good court vision led to him creating offense for himself and teammates. He was also knocking down catch-and-shoot threes and face-up mid-range jumpers to help Compton Magic to a 4-0 record.
