Emerging as a Long Term Prospect to Watch This AAU Season

There were several prospects who performed well at the New York Knockout, but a select group stood out as players I plan to track throughout the spring and summer.    He moves with purpose and explosiveness, attacking the rim with highlight level dunks. He was one of the most athletic prospects of the weekend, using his size and length to finish through traffic and control the paint. Defensively, he was everywhere creating deflections, disrupting actions, and injecting energy into every possession.     He's a physical guard who uses his lower body strength to bully his way into advantages and play through contact. Once he gets downhill, he can finish confidently with either hand. He's got real craft in his bag hesitations, stop and go bursts, and change of pace moves that constantly put defenders on their heels.     Jamel showed strong body control on his drives, staying balanced through contact. He defended well on the ball, disrupting handlers and forcing turnovers. He threaded a sharp pick and roll pass through a tight window and knocked down a smooth long‑range jumper. An athletic guard, he uses his length and physical tools to impact both ends.     He is deceptively quick with the ball and consistently makes good decisions. He delivers the right pass with either hand and shows quality ball handling skills paired with strong court vision. Defensively, he closes out on shooters well. He also shows a strong overall feel for the game and a clear understanding of his teammates' scoring spots. The lefty can pull up in the free throw line area and knock down jumpers, and he controls the tempo while playing under control.     He's a crafty and quick point guard who is decisive as both a playmaker and a scorer. He shot it well from deep off the dribble and played with confidence throughout. He uses his speed and quickness to get downhill and consistently puts pressure on the defense.     He shoots it well from deep and uses his shifty handle to get to his spots, especially as a finisher in the paint. He showed an impressive crossover and a good floater over length. His athleticism is underrated and shows up consistently in his ability to create and convert.
