We take a look at some talented hoopers to watch that are on the east side of town in the Salt Lake Area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2895644' first='Malei' last='Atem'], Cottonwood

This kid is fun to watch. College coaches looking for athletes with size and a motor should be tracking Atem. He's all over the floor, able to play the top of the press or trap, help inside or at the bottom of a zone, and guard. On offense, he attacks the rim and can score from all over, and he should have a breakout club season.

Timothy Hammer, Skyline

Timmothy Hammer is a sharpshooter who excels both off screens and as a zone buster. His high release and quick hands allow him to get his shot off quickly. Defensively, he's a capable player, excelling both on and off the ball. He is expected to make significant improvements before his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2400694' first='Max' last='Brown'], Jordan

Brown is a 6'3 guard who is going to be the premier player at Jordan this coming season. Brown has range, and he is not afraid or shy to pull from deep. He is also quick enough that if he drags you out to defend too high, it will give him an advantage as he gets downhill.

[player_tooltip player_id='2208570' first='Manase' last='Brown'], Corner Canyon

Brown put up 10 PPG last season, and that could easily be up to 15, which might not seem like a lot, but when you play on a team that is usually stacked with talent, the scoring is more balanced. Brown is one of the stronger forwards in the state who can defend almost anyone on the floor. He rebounds like crazy and is a low-maintenance hooper. He does a lot of the dirty work and finds ways to be impactful in all aspects of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1724428' first='Dax' last='Matheson'], Brighton

Matheson will be much improved this coming season, and so should his Brighton squad. He is quick and brings a high basketball IQ to the floor. Matheson possesses good vision and consistently gets into the paint. His ability to play off of both feet is valuable when making paint touches. He is a player to watch this spring and summer.
