One of the most athletic players in 4A is ready to make a big-time statement. Cottonwood is a team that is for real. With Atem roaming outside and inside, you can expect some high-level play. Atem is a next-level player who can be a steal, and he should be getting offers from the local JUCO’s as a no-brainer prospect.

At 6’5”, Stem is a wing with a ton of potential and an explosive downhill game. He attacks the rim with force and has the athletic ability to finish through and around defenders at a high level. Defensively, his ability to slide his feet and stay in front of opponents gives him another way to impact the game. Stem had a big summer with Team Bwil, and I’m excited to see him bring that momentum into his senior season at Cottonwood.

Atem is ranked currently at #11, and regardless of whether he moves up or down the rankings, this kid can play. If some NJCAA JUCO can steal him they will have a future D1 kid on their hands. It is more likely that he could find a higher-level school to take him because he is a gem. He is only 6’5 but he plays more like he is 6’7. You can tell that he is used to defending taller players, but he is a lockdown defender at the wing position. That is one quality that could turn the heads of coaches is defense and his athleticism.

Atem can play above the rim but he is skilled off the bounce and he shoots the ball well in the midrange and he has spots out there.

Atem is playing for Fort Wayne Fury in the Utah Top 50.

Atem is a player who stands out on the floor as a two-way player. He gets after it on defense as he defends the entire length of the floor, and he does not take plays off. With that kind of motor and with his skill set and athleticism, he is going to get more looks. He will be putting up close to 20 points a game this coming season, and he can generate offense with his defense. On offense, he is a bull that can create physical contact, and he can also play through it. Atem is also a player who gets after it on the glass. Atem will average 5+ rebounds a game. Excited to see what this kid does wth his opportunities. Atem has had a solid summer, which has earned him an offer from Southern Utah University. The sheer athleticism and motor should get him a few more looks. He has been able to own June.

Atem might be among the biggest sleepers in the class, and he has been getting after it this Spring. When it comes to motors, he is likely in the Top 5 in the class with the best motor. He can play multiple positions, and by that, I mean he can defend multiple positions. He is a no-brainer NJCAA D1 kid and a no-brainer NAIA, D2 prospect as well.

One of the most raw athletes out there on the floor, he is long and a disruptive active defender. He has a knack for getting his hands on passes, often tipping the ball and initiating fast breaks. Atem possesses impressive leaping ability but also demonstrates some crafty moves around the rim. He has the potential to be a solid wing player at the NWAC, and with improvements to his shooting and overall control, his future looks bright.
