Since his freshman year, it was clear that Luka Cecez Luka Cecez 6'9" | SF Cottonwood | 2027 State UT possessed significant upside. Now, entering his senior season, he is ready to make a definitive statement: he has legitimate Division I potential. He is a high-level prospect for the Division II level, and given Westminster’s aggressive approach to recruiting local talent, he would be a natural fit there. Furthermore, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see JUCO powerhouses like Snow College and SLCC get involved to keep him in-state.

The colts are 9-4 and exceeding expectations a bit and that’s in huge part to Luka’s play. He’s a threat to score 25+ every single night. He’s also a great rim protector and has had 5 or more blocks in 6 of Cottonwood’s 13 games this season. The way he is able to control the pace of the opponent’s offense is impressive to see. Nothing gets past him, and the entire game revolves around him as long as he’s on the court. Great prospect to watch for the next two years.

Cecez has quietly started building a strong resume without a lot of hype. He is a hard-working, lanky wing who received his first Division offer from Southern Utah University. Many good players have come through Cottonwood, and Cecez could be among them. He is set to have an explosive year.

Cecez is going to be a late riser and he is somewhat of a late bloomer that is starting to blossom. He was really good for Bucked Up Elite and it looks like he will continue to play with them late July in the UA Rise Finals. Good size with a lot of upside.

Cecez has shown growth over the past two years and he is set to have an even bigger summer as he has a chance to make a huge impact at Cottonwood as one of the top players on that team as he has length and a solid all-around skill set.
