Lincoln Satterthwaite is headed off to the next stop. The lanky 6-foot-5 wing from Portland was coming off a solid sophomore campaign at Clackamas and having developed his game the past couple of years, was ready to take the next step up in his basketball career. He received some interest from a number of schools, but when it came down it he went with a familiar place in Corban - a school where he'll continue on the family name.

"I was first introduced to Corban because both of my parents attended the university and had great athletic careers there," Satterthwaite said. "As I got older, I connected with the coaching staff, and throughout the season they continued to show interest in me as a player and a person. Eventually, I had the opportunity to meet with the coaches in person, and I really appreciated the environment they've built. The culture, energy, and overall atmosphere at Corban stood out to me and made a strong impression, which lead to me committing to play there."

The fit as a school was just right for Satterthwaite, but so was the possible impact he could make on the basketball floor. It's one that he's embracing right away. "Coming into a program that graduated five wings, I am stepping into an opportunity to compete for a starting spot," Satterthwaite said. "I bring value as a strong wing who rebounds well and shoots a high percentage from three point range, and I'm ready to contribute right away."

Coming out of David Douglas High School (Class of 2024), you could see the potential in Satterthwaite. He was wing with size that only needed to get stronger and work on some areas of his game to make himself a four-year school prospect. He described his journey at junior college - one that concluded with him averaging 13.3 points and 4.9 rebounds this past year as a sophomore. "My first year at Clackamas was a grind just to stay on the court," Satterthwaite said. "Defense was my biggest weakness and made me a liability, which limited my minutes. After the season, I was disappointed with how my freshman year turned out and even questioned whether I wanted to keep playing."

"Going into my sophomore season, I made it a priority to get stronger and develop as both a player and a leader," Satterthwaite continued. "My growth on the defensive end gave me more confidence and allowed me to earn more time on the court. That opportunity opened the door for me to contribute more offensively, creating and scoring more effectively. I'm grateful to Coach Stamme and Coach Justin for pushing me to compete harder and for helping me grow as a leader both on and off the court."

Our congratulations go out to Satterthwaite and his family on his decision.
