The AAU season is about to really take off and it is about be an extremely busy next few months. With rosters being finalized now is a perfect time to start taking a look at as many Indiana-based teams as we can. For this spotlight, let's take a look at [player_tooltip player_id='2860120' first='Midwest' last='Stars'] 17u.

Top Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2140407' first='Kellen' last='Crim']

The [player_tooltip player_id='2860120' first='Midwest' last='Stars'] is a collection of some of the best under-the-radar players in the entire state. Based on how the 17u roster has shaped up, the head of the snake for them will be Morristown point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140407' first='Kellen' last='Crim']. The 5'9 lead guard is coming off a breakout junior season averaging 15.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. He is a smaller guard yes, but his size should not fool you at all because this guy can play at a very level. A player that is comfortable with the ball in his hands, Crim can make plays and is a really good shooter with space.

Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2140330' first='Brayden' last='Hoover']

A player to keep an eye on for the [player_tooltip player_id='2860120' first='Midwest' last='Stars'] this spring is out of Triton Central, 5'11 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140330' first='Brayden' last='Hoover']. Hoover is an under-the-radar player that has showed some flashes over the years and this could be the grassroots season where he puts it more together. Although he is not the tallest, he does have a stronger frame for a guard and pairs that well with a high IQ on the ball. He's very impressive as a playmaker in the backcourt.

Other Roster Members

[player_tooltip player_id='2560344' first='Brody' last='Hartman'] (Triton Central) - Hartman is the 2nd of three players from Triton Central on the [player_tooltip player_id='2860120' first='Midwest' last='Stars'] roster. He was the third leading scorer for the Tigers this past season and will be looking to breakout a little more this spring. Really good shooter and does so very smoothly.

[player_tooltip player_id='2402369' first='Henry' last='Kemper'] (Triton Central) - The third player from the Triton Central Tigers is forward [player_tooltip player_id='2402369' first='Henry' last='Kemper']. He is coming off a season that saw him average 5.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2402396' first='Owen' last='Zachery'] (Rushville) - Zachery is a shorter guard but provides a lot of athleticism being that he is a multi-sport athlete. As a junior for Rushville, he averaged 4.9 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140415' first='Logan' last='Simpson'] (Greenburg) - Simpson is a point guard that has shown some flashes over the years when we have gotten eyes on him. For his junior season at Greensburg, he averaged 6.8 points and 3.2 assists per game. He can really get hot from behind the arc if given the opportunity.

[player_tooltip player_id='2416697' first='Joel' last='Bechtel'] (Hauser) - The Hauser Jets had one of the best seasons at the lower class level and one of their top players for them was [player_tooltip player_id='2416697' first='Joel' last='Bechtel']. The 6'5 wing was the fourth-leading scorer for them averaging 6.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Could be the top option on the wing for them throughout the grassroots season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381359' first='Owen' last='King'] (Greenwood) - One of the guards that will make up the backcourt rotation is [player_tooltip player_id='2381359' first='Owen' last='King'] out of Greenwood High School. He is coming off a junior season that saw him average 4.0 points and was one of the leaders in assists with over 5.0 assists per game. His biggest strength is his ability to pass the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2816339' first='Joey' last='Matis'] (Roncalli) - Rounding out the group that makes up [player_tooltip player_id='2860120' first='Midwest' last='Stars'] 17u is Roncalli wing [player_tooltip player_id='2816339' first='Joey' last='Matis']. Matis is a 6'2 wing that could be the most consistent shooter on the wing for them all AAU season.
