Matching up with the juggernaut that was Unity Christian in the second round of the state tournament this winter, Regina Catholic fell to the eventual state champions in the semis. Lucky for them -- not so much for anybody else in 2A -- the Regals return their top four scorers from this last season, and they'll bring back one of the bigger teams the class, or the state has to offer.

However, that also includes the assumption that stud football prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='2419768' first='Tate' last='Wallace'] will be back for his final season of basketball in Iowa City. Now becoming more of a consistent trend, enrolling early is certainly something Wallace could consider, though the future can be a bit more cloudy, and unguaranteed with the fact that Regina is a Catholic school, and the 6-foot-3 forward may not be able to enroll early at the next level because he may need his final semester to graduate.

So, with that unclear we'll proceed as if Wallace will return for his senior hoops campaign, and that would, of course, be ideal for the Regals. This winter, Wallace led the way in scoring, putting up 16.2 points per game while shooting 65.5% from the field, dominating with his gridiron-tailored size and strength on the interior. A big, physical body that wasn't afraid to stick his nose in the thick of the paint, fight for rebounds or get tough shots at the rim, Wallace was a major asset in toughness for Regina this season. In addition to his scoring numbers, he grabbed 5.6 rebounds per game.

Maybe not the biggest, but definitely the tallest player on the roster, 6-foot-9 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2523886' first='Ben' last='Wade'] took another step forward this winter. Averaging 11.1 points and a team-leading 6.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per contest, Wade has earned offers from Drake and Northern Iowa, while also popping up on high-major radars in the Midwest. A tall, lanky athlete, that can throw down some thunderous dunks, swat away shots at the rim and be a deterrent for anyone who wants to take the ball into the paint. Growing in skill, Wade is gradually becoming a better shooter, and if he continues to add weight to his frame, Wade could be a force to be reckoned with. A jump can often happen between a prospect's sophomore and junior season, and Wade will be a player to watch on that front.

Speaking of skilled forwards, [player_tooltip player_id='2419815' first='Will' last='Litton'] another multi-sport star for the Regals, will be back for his senior campaign next season. Standing at 6-foot-4, Litton put up 13.3 points per game, while shooting 52.7% from the floor. He also grabbed 6.4 rebounds and dished out 2.6 assists per game. A well-rounded athlete that stars in football and baseball for the Regals, Litton can shoot it from deep much better than his numbers showed this season, and he can throw around his weight on the interior, too.

Truthfully, the trio of bigger players couldn't complement each other's skillsets much better.

Don't forget, too, [player_tooltip player_id='2617531' first='Miles' last='Nuzback'] will return for his senior campaign, as well. A combo guard that 8.1 points per game while shooting 33.3% from three, Nuzback adds some spacing and playmaking on the perimeter to what the three bigs can do on the inside. A 6-foot-4 guard that adds to the already monstrous size the Regals field, Nuzback is a confident scorer that also plays excellent defense around the outside. Like Wade, if Nuzback takes another step forward, Regina may plow through their schedule en route to a state title next season.
