The Race for Mr. Basketball: The Official Top Ten Announcement

The official top ten list is out for Mr. Basketball and our first glance analysis...... this is the ten we would have chosen as well. Good work by the committee.

Nolen Anderson Nolen Anderson 6'7" | SF Wayzata | 2026 State #113 Nation MN of Wayzata ( D1 Minnesota ). Minnesota signed forward has his team ranked second in the state and he is the team's leading scorer at 23.5 points per game.

Dothan Ijadimbola Dothan Ijadimbola 6'6" | SF Totino-Grace | 2026 State MN of Totino-Grace ( D1 Minnesota ). Drake bound forward that has his team ranked number one in the state averaging 20 points and eight rebounds a contest.

Kale Misegades Kale Misegades 6'2" | CG Henning | 2026 State MN of Henning ( Minnesota Comets ). A future SMSU Mustang guard is averaging 31.3 points a game with double figure rebounds and over six assists per showing. Henning is the number ranked team in Class A.

Joseph Mitchell III Joseph Mitchell III 6'2" | CG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2026 State MN of Cretin-Derham Hall ( Howard Pulley ). Mitchell is headed to St. Thomas and he has had the Raiders ranked in the top five area all season long. Mitchell is averaging 21.7 points a game shooting 45.6 percent at the arc.

Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 6'0" | PG Hopkins | 2026 State MN of Hopkins (Team Herro). The all time assists leader in Minnesota is headed to North Dakota. Moore has his team top ten in the state averaging 19.3 points and nine assists a game.

Pierce Petersohn Pierce Petersohn 6'5" | SG Triton | 2026 State MN of Triton ( Minnesota Select ). A future Virginia Tech football player, Pierce is averaging 32.7 points and 11.9 rebounds a game for a team that has played better than expected at 24-4.

Deron Russell Deron Russell 6'1" | PG Waseca | 2026 State MN of Waseca ( Minnesota Select ). The state's leading scorer at over 34 a game has his team at 19-7 headed into the playoffs. Russell will play football at North Dakota State.

Cedric Tomes Cedric Tomes 6'0" | PG East Ridge | 2026 State MN of East Ridge ( D1 Minnesota ). Tomes is a future Gopher that has had his team in the top ten all season long with a 21-5 record averaging 31 points and five assists a game.

Christian Wiggins Christian Wiggins 6'5" | SG Wayzata | 2026 State #120 Nation MN of Wayzata ( D1 Minnesota ). An Iowa State signed guard that plays with the second ranked Trojans averaging 20.5 points a game.

Hamze Yusuf Hamze Yusuf 6'1" | PG Eden Prairie | 2026 State MN of Eden Prairie (Hoop Habits). At 24 points a game the Eagles have been in the top ten this season playing better than expected at 17-9. Unsigned senior.
