The 2026 MHSAA finals weekend was as thrilling of a chapter in recent memory. Mr Basketball playing like Mr Basketball. Upsets, freshman showing out, generational scoring performances, and clutch play. The weekend had it all.

I'll provide boots on the ground all tournament teams for all four divisions. After giving you Divisions III and IV, we begin move up to the big boys with Division II.

PG- Cooper Wagner 6-0 2026 Freeland Wagner gets the first spot without any stats that jump out at you. However, he provided solid all-around play and got Freeland into their devastating half court sets efficiently and quickly. Defensively limited a Summit North squad that was loaded with backcourt firepower (see below) Was active in a zone that helped slow the Dragons after a very quick start. Only spent one year at Freeland after transferring in from Saginaw Swan Valley. Impressive how seamlessly he fit in within what was an already well established winning system. This malleability should be intriguing to college coaches looking for a talented player who can adapt to a new system quickly.

SG- Codey Bush 6-2 2029 Romulus Summit Academy North After peppering the all-tournament teams from Divisions III and IV with underclassmen. Spoiler alert... this will be the only underclassmen on this list. Bush got off to a very fast start on Thursday night. There did not appear to be any freshmen jitters at all on the big stage. Slashed to the basket seemingly at will against Unity Christian's big frontline. Like the rest of his team, was slowed when Unity Christian switched to zone. Near the top of a deep and strong 2029 class in Michigan. The second half fade highlighted areas that need to be improved upon (strength, outside shooting) However there is a ton of upside and a lot to work with already.

SF- [player_tooltip player_id='1806407' first='Wilson' last='Huckeby'] 6-4 2026 Freeland Michigan's top shooter kicked things off with... you guessed it... a deep three. Didn't really slow down the rest of weekend. Finished with 22 points in the semi, followed by 12 in the final. The final game output is a little deceptive as that contest was an offensive slog. Adjusted well to the mid range game as opponents didn't waste any time running him off the line. It is revealing that he was so impactful with only five threes on the weekend. Has expanded his game appropriately inside the arc. The cheat code is a stocky and physical frame that can absorb contact on drives. The Saginaw Valley St commit wrapped up an outstanding career in storybook fashion by raising a banner.

PF- [player_tooltip player_id='1806491' first='Owen' last='Vanderwaal'] 6-6 2026 Hudsonville Unity Christian The Calvin commit didn't have the best outing in the Saturday final loss. Playing time was limited due to foul trouble. However, did enough work Thursday night to earn this placement. Nearly posted a double double with 12 points and nine rebounds. The stat line only tells a part of the story though. The defensive presence was immense against a Detroit University Prep squad that feeds off of penetration. It was simply s "no fly zone" in the paint. Showed above average lateral quickness for his size and goo defensive instincts.

C- [player_tooltip player_id='1626883' first='Tristan' last='Comer'] 6-6 2026 Williamston Summit Academy North got off to quick start on Thurdsday night. While a switch to a zone slowed the Dragon offense. An offensive adjustment was just as key. Simply put... pounding the ball down low Comer. Is an offensive matchup nightmare at the high school level for anyone. There are just not many 6-6 nearly 300 pound prospects with soft hands and quick feet. Had his way to the tune of a 20 point 13 rebound double double. Didn't slow down at all in the final against a much bigger frontline (see above and below) Putting up another 12 and 10 double double. I would love to give a more detailed scouting report. I won't because this was probably one of the last organized basketball games he will play. Will move across the street to football complex in East Lansing shortly.

Second Team

PG- [player_tooltip player_id='2888410' first='Jordan' last='Fuller'] 6-0 2026 Romulus Summit Academy North While his backcourt mate got off to a quick start. The Tiffin (OH) commit took a bit to get going. The point guard seemingly began the game playing off the ball. Not sure if this was intentional or what the defense was giving him. Once he got on the ball started to warm up offensively. Did he best to try and keep the Dragons in it. Finished with 17 points and put constant pressure on the rim with his penetration. It was the final high school game in a career that featured plenty of high level wins.

SG- [player_tooltip player_id='2387504' first='Kyler' last='Berghuis'] 6-2 2026 Hudsonville Unity Christian While the frontline defense was the story in the Friday night semifinal. Berghuis helped provide perimeter punch. Put up 8 points in the victory. Good ball handler who gets to his spots easily. Has more elevation than you think and is a good finisher around the rim. The ball handling was needed on Saturday as Unity lost their starting point guard to injury. Slid seamlessly into that role. This backcourt versatility should help him as he joins virtually his entire starting five at nearby Calvin next season.

SF- [player_tooltip player_id='2387295' first='Jack' last='Kamminga'] 6-3 2026 Hudsonville Unity Christian While Unity struggled mightily on offense in the final. Kamminga was the lone bright spot. When shots aren't falling, your force your way to the basket. Kamminga heeded that clarion call on Saturday. Finished with a game high 14 points in the loss. A "jack of all trades" type wing who could really pop at the next level. Stop me if you heard this before... going to Calvin to continue his college career with his teammates.

PF- Chris Bryd 6-5 2026 Detroit University Prep The Panthers struggled with Unity Christian's size on Friday night. While took him a bit to get going. Bryd seemed to figure out things in the second half. Strong and athletic slasher started to create his own offense. As the defense started to loosen up, hit a few threes as well. Finished with a game high 18 points in the loss.

C- Luke Tubergen 6-8 2026 Hudsonville Unity Christian Wrapped up a rapid developmental year on the biggest stage possible in Michigan. Went from little used last year to a vital role for the Crusaders. A true old school big man who has improved his foot speed. While he still lumbers a bit, that improvement is what helped him get on the court this year. Not a gentle giant or finesse player. Tough, with broad shoulders, and doesn't mind contact. Got a black eye as proof on Friday night to prove it. Soft touch around the basket that helped him put 12 points in the semifinal victory. Of all the Crusaders heading to Calvin. This is the project of the bunch. The developmental curve is clearly pointed up after this year though.
