The young man feels and understands the game at a different level. Over the weekend it was his jumper that stole the show. Huckeby finished with 31 points, with 21 of those coming from beyond the arc.

Huckeby is an elite guard talent in the state of Michigan. He’s a scorer, there’s no doubt about that. He even scored his 1000th point this season. While Huckeby can get buckets, it might be his game between the ears that’s the toughest too deal with for opponents. If Kingsford locks in on his knockdown jumper, he can easily find another way. They’re going to have to stop him in layers.

This prospect from Freeland High School in Michigan came down to IU-Indianapolis on Sunday morning with a reputation as a high-level catch-and-shoot threat. Huckeby certainly lived up to the hype as he played very well in his session including knocking in several three-point shots. His mixture of positional size on the perimeter, along with what he brings to the table as a shooter, makes him a very intriguing college prospect. Ranked as a Top 25 prospect in the Prep Hoops Michigan Class of 2026 Rankings.

Huckeby was lights out in the Prelude League. In the quarterfinals of the tournament finals, he had 11 points and impressed with his passing and decision making. Huckeby heated up in the semis by dropping a team high 19 points in a hard fought 68-65 win against KY Hoop Dreams. He continues to prove that he’s one of the higher basketball IQ prospects in the state.
