GHSA AAA Championship: Cross Creek vs Harlem

Cross Creek mounted a strong second-half comeback to defeat Harlem 56–51 and capture another Class AAA state title for the Razorbacks. After trailing early, Cross Creek responded with a composed and determined effort down the stretch to secure the championship. Here is a look at some of the standout performers from Wednesday night's title game.    The unsigned senior led the way for Cross Creek with 25 points in the victory, consistently creating offense when his team needed it most. Jackson is an athletic, attacking combo guard with good strength who excels at getting downhill and putting pressure on the defense. At his best when attacking the paint, he finishes effectively around the rim and brings a confident scoring mentality to the backcourt.     The highest-rated prospect in the game, Tisby came alive in the second half and finished with 16 points. The junior showcased his ability to score at all three levels while utilizing his length and athleticism to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he was active and disruptive, showing the versatility to guard multiple positions and alter shots in the lane.     Luke is a big man that college coaches should keep a close eye on this offseason. The junior has good hands and moves well for his size, showing the ability to operate effectively around the paint. He can score on the block with touch and control, and his combination of size and mobility makes him an intriguing frontcourt prospect moving forward.     The junior is a quick, attacking left-handed guard who contributed 8 points for Cross Creek in the victory. He does a good job using his speed and change of pace to get into the paint and put pressure on the defense. The lefty guard plays with confidence, can create offense off the dribble, and brings energy on both ends of the floor. With his quickness and ability to attack downhill, he is a backcourt prospect who should have a much bigger role for the Razorbacks next season.     The Bulldogs' point guard was outstanding and arguably the best player on the floor despite the loss. Williams is a scoring lead guard with a high basketball IQ who does an excellent job controlling the tempo and making plays for himself and others. He finished with 28 points, showcasing his ability to change speeds, effectively use ball screens, and create scoring opportunities. A gifted passer and confident playmaker, Williams has a very bright future ahead of him.     Gandy turned in one of his best performances of the season, scoring 12 points for Harlem. The lefty forward showed good touch around the rim and did a solid job rebounding his area on both ends of the floor. He also displayed the ability to step out and knock down the midrange jumper. With his strength and physical presence, Gandy provides a dependable inside option for the Bulldogs.
