is at his best with the ball in his hands. He gets into the paint consistently, where he can score or create for others. Jackson has a natural feel for the game—keeps defenders guessing with hesitations and bursts. When his jumper is falling, he becomes a tough cover because of how well he mixes levels. Plays with confidence and embraces big moments. A lead guard who can generate offense when things break down. Three-time state champ.

A three-time state champion, Dontrell’s winning DNA showed up again when it mattered most as he scored 11 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter to couple with his 7 rebounds to keep Harlem at bay, outscoring the Bulldogs 24-13 in the final period to beat the Dogs for a fourth time 56-51. The two-way star rode his offense in Macon. Jackson was explosive on drives, the big guard erupting to the rim for slams and tough finishes. He showed the ability to get the ball off the rim for putback dunks. Jackson’s athleticism helped him shoot 11-14 from two-point range and 3-3 from the line. I am bullish on his collegiate future as long as he can show the ability to consistently knockdown perimeter shots.

The unsigned senior led the way for Cross Creek with 25 points in the victory, consistently creating offense when his team needed it most. Jackson is an athletic, attacking combo guard with good strength who excels at getting downhill and putting pressure on the defense. At his best when attacking the paint, he finishes effectively around the rim and brings a confident scoring mentality to the backcourt.

He has good strength and is at his best inside the arc, where he consistently puts pressure on the defense. His perimeter shooting continues to trend upward, adding another layer to his offensive profile as he develops.

Up from No. 103: Jackson is a relentless defender that will pick up 94-feet. He is quick laterally, beating ball handlers to the spot. Dontrell has active hands and will dig out steals and force loose balls. On offense, Jackson is more of a table setter than a score-first guard. He averaged 7.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2 steals as a junior.

Dontrell Jackson is a prospect who left a great first impression on me playing with Middleton Hoops Elite in Columbia. He is probably closer to 6’3″ now and was playing Point Guard which means a great combination of positional size and talent. Dontrell just seems to glide with the ball in his hands and is a smooth and crafty scorer. He reads the game extremely well on both ends of the floor and balanced scoring and facilitating all day long. Jackson is at his best getting the ball into the paint where he can finish with either hand or find an opponent teammate. He finished with 15 Points, 8 Assists, and 3 Steals in a win over Upward Stars Columbia 17U.
