5 games to watch this weekend

Tj: Toledo St. John's vs. Toledo St. Francis: These teams split in the regular season with St John's winning by 20+ and St Francis winning by two in the return game. There's no shortage of talent on the floor and should be one heck of a crowd at Toledo Central Catholic, the point guard battle between [player_tooltip player_id='2370700' first='Ethan' last='James'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2195059' first='Chris' last='Poellnitz III'] should be a good one.

Elyria vs. Canton McKinley: There was some tension with these two teams after an emotional scrimmage back in November. Elyria had a hot start and then cooled off a bit in conference play, but they have the talent and athleticism to match the Bulldogs. Should be a fun one in one of the more under-appreciated gyms in NEO.

Alliance vs. Bedford: Bedford won 9 of their first 10 games before getting into the grind of conference play. The duo of [player_tooltip player_id='3043990' first='Kevin' last='Woodgett'] and AJ McGuinea has been one of the more exciting duos in NEO.

Mentor vs. Saint Edward: Two of the winningest programs in history and two schools that are synonymous with Northeast Ohio basketball. Should be a packed house at Lakewood High School, a de facto home game for the Eagles. Should be a fun pace and Game 1 of an intriguing doubleheader.

Hawken Vs Youngstown Ursuline: Hawken picked up an 84-66 upset win over Ursuline a year ago in the district semis and both teams have since moved up to Division 3, facing each other this time in the district finals.

Wheelersburg Vs Ironton, best sports rivalry in southeast Ohio, no love lost after Wheelersburg beat Ironton in the football regular season then Ironton was held out of the playoffs, Wheelersburg handed Ironton one of 2 regular season losses for the Tigers Dayton Northridge Vs Cincinnati Taft, 2 teams who play a fast style of play and have extremely talented prospects, should have a great pace, disappointed I won't be there, will be at the first 3 games at Cintas that day

Trotwood Madison Vs Goshen, clash of styles, Trotwood Madison started the year 13-1 but took some tough losses to end the year vs a difficult schedule. Goshen less battle tested but their 100 to 94 Loss vs Taft should help prepare them for the athleticism and pressure the Rams will send at them.

Huber Heights Wayne Vs Cincinnati Moeller, Wayne finished second in GWOC and they'll take on the GCL-South champs, best Division I district final in southwest Ohio. Battle of sophomore point guards [player_tooltip player_id='2885759' first='Bubba' last='Donald'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2737006' first='Dontay' last='Chivers']

Fairview Vs Poland Seminary, Warriors in their third district final in the past five years. Looking for their second district title ever, seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2328306' first='Will' last='Allen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2328307' first='Burke' last='Lowry'] lead the way for the Warriors.
